No place like home, no place like home

So, I am in the process of trying to get the tape of the walls now that they are painted (living room, office, and master bedroom). This is a huge pain in the but I just have to say. The tape shreds and the painted part stays on the wall while the other half comes off. GRrrrrr! I was at "last straw" point when the tape on the sealing started taking the sealing paint with it. Double GRrrrrr! I wasn't expecting that one. I am terribly homesick since Dan has gone off to his new job and I am left to finish all that is still left to do. It is just not as much fun alone. I'm not just one kind of home sick though. I'm homesick for Arizona and Hampton. While I am in the process of making this house into my home, I miss the safe cozy walls of my base house. There, now you know I'm not materialistic. I have this nice beautiful house and I miss my base house and all it's oddities which include a very thin wall connecting us to the neighbors. Oh the soun...

Update

I am now sitting in our new home in Dan's office. I can't tell you how great it is to have the office right off the kitchen. It really helps Dan and I spend more time together as I get dinner ready and he works on stuff like paying the bills. It has been a while since I have written I understand, but I'm sure you will all forgive me since it was for the sake of moving. I am glad it is done. Of course now we have to settle into this house and finish packing boxes which is quickly getting to the no phone point. I have decided after already painting the base house all back to white then painting our new office, living room and bedroom, I am painted out. I have an idea what I want every where, but mostly, I am done for a while. Leo is adjusting well it seems. He is enjoying the carpet being able to dig his back claws in and tear around the living room. So far the office is still our favorite hang out. It's actually the exact same color it was in the base house wh...

Treasures

The packers come today to pack stuff up. Tomorrow they will come to load everything onto a van and take it all away. Next Monday they will deliver it to our new home. I am so excited. We have worked really hard getting things packed, the house painted back to white and doing all the paperwork for our new house. It's all very exciting and very packed with good stress. Ustress is what it's called though I'm sure that is not how it's spelled. Last night a very dear friend of mine got together some ladies for a going away get together for me. I am so blessed to know so many precious, beautiful, unique, blessed, loving - kind women. There words of encouragement are stored like priceless treasures in my heart. My prayer is that in my next church that I can be as much a blessing their as these wonderful ladies have been to me. I honestly believe that God put them in my life to be Godly examples of Christ centered women. I have shared in their happy events and sad....

Signing signing signing

We are now in middle of the house buying process; paper work, paper work and more paper work. I think I could use up an entire bic just signing my name on all the dotted lines (which aren't actually dotted now that I think about it but you get the point.) I am constantly day dreaming about what color the walls will be, where will the furniture go and what new things will be added to the house. One big question we have is where will the china cabinet go? There doesn't seem to be a suitable place for it. There are a couple places it would fit, but no place we have agreed upon yet. It's quite big and would look rather out of place if in the wrong spot. We are going to try for a leather couch since we have our cat. I want guests to have a cat hair free place to sit when they are visiting. There is so much to do and right now I know I need to focus on getting this house ready to move out of. There isn't a whole lot to do since movers will do most of it, but there...

New Home

Dan and I have found a house! It's really really great. My mom flew all the way from the west coast to help us since our search on Sat. didn't go so well. Well! the first house we looked at Wed. morning was the one for us. We are now in the paper work process. It is so perfect. There is a office right off the kitchen (which I think originally was a dining room) so now Dan and I can still be together when I am cooking in the kitchen. The kitchen/office/dining area is separated from the rest of the house by a door frame so we will be able to put a swinging door in so we can keep Leo out of the kitchen area. There is also a workshop under the house (the house is built on a hill). It's just great. I will try for pictures after the pre-inspection on Sat. I am just so thankful to God that it was possible for my mom to come out. I can honestly say that if we didn't have her to explain stuff in that great way that she does that we would literally be looking for an...
