Update and Question

Today is the last day of April. This means that tomorrow I can say Dan is coming home this month. I am so excited to be under three weeks now. I can’ tell you how frustrating it is to just wait. It’s so close. I often burst out in a spontaneous smile when I think of seeing Dan again. We will go see his grandfather, Papa, when he gets home because he is very ill. Please pray that Papa will be well enough to have a good time with Dan. This Saturday is my Princess house party so if you can make it, please let me know since I have to let the gate guard know who all is coming. I look foreword to just sharing my home and have a little time of fellowship. Please pray for me as I will be leading the Grad Sunday School through the first chapter of 2 Peter May 6. I desire very much to bring God’s word to these young adults in a way that makes it real and applicable to their lives. Pray that God has and will equipped me for this task. A Question: What are some ways that help you relax when you fe...

Light the Darkness

This evening I attended the "Light the Darkness" banquet for the Care Net Recourse Pregnancy Center. David Bereit , the Executive Director of American Life League and National Director of STOPP spoke about doing what we must to save the lives of unborn babies and fight against the lies told by Planned Parenthood. My heart ached and my stomach knotted as I listened to David Bereit speak about Planned Parenthood, how they act and what they show our children in the schools. One book given students 10 years old and up has naked cartoons of men and women posing in provocative positions and one picture actually has a man laying on a bed with a woman on top of him. The whole theme of the book is a bird trying to convince a bee that sex is a safe and fun activity to bring couplesstraight and homosexual closer together. It stated that sex is a good and fun activity. It is proven that schools that allow Planned Parenthood to do their sex education have higher teen pregnancy r...

Discovering the Voice of God by Priscilla Shirer

Here is what I learned in my Bible study this morning. This is what was in my book plus what I wrote in the margins so some is directly from the book and some is from me. "When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak whatever He hears. He will also declare to you what is to come. John 16:13 When we go through life, we need a guide we can trust. This is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit asks us to listen to Him, to follow Him, and to trust Him. John 16:13 explains that When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. "To guide" means to lead while one is on the way. The Holy Spirit does not start us out on a road and give us the directions to start with, He goes with us so that when it's time to turn right or left He tells us at that point. The Holy Spirit offers you freely given truth. We don't get it only when we do something to receive it. Desiring and doing ...

Sprouts Among the Cinders

I am so thankful for all that God has been doing in my life and the lives of those around me. A good friend told me this morning that her father had accepted Christ this week. I can't tell you how amazing that is to hear such an answer to a prayer that I know has been prayed for such a long time and so fervently. God is awesome! This morning as the pastor spoke about Luke 12:54-13:8 I am reminded that our recent pain over the loss of those precious students and teachers at Virginia Tech is something that is not foreign to Jesus. He knows the hearts of all men and I am encouraged to continue on growing in Him and sharing his precious grace. I was also moved to tears as I watched Trey Perkin's father, Don knelt at the front of the church. For those who don't know, Trey was in the French class that was one of Cho's targets. By the grace of God, Trey and some other students were spared. Trey and another student were able to keep Cho from returning to the class room by lay...

Heres the skinny!

Hello to you all. I am so glad that I could set this up. For all you who did not know Dan was leaving the Air Force, yes it is true. This blog will kind of be like an journal of our adventure into the civilian world. As far as I can tell, I am so spoiled. It will be interesting. I have four more weeks until Dan gets home. In the mean time there is a lot to do. For those of you who don’t know, I am currently volunteering as a child advocate and a peer counselor for girls and women in crisis pregnancies. I had been offered the job as volunteer coordinator at the CASA office I volunteer at and also did my internship for, but that is not to be. I had to decline for a lot of reasons that I will spare you the details. I am very sad and disappointed, but it was for the best. It has taught me a great deal about me and what the heck I am doing with my life. I can say one thing I got from this is that I am going to take my writing seriously. Feel free to hold me accountable. There ...

A little bundle of daisies to brighten your day.

Dear Beloved, I have searched you and I know you. I know when you sit and when you rise. I perceive your thoughts from afar. I discern your going out and your lying down. I am familiar with all your ways. Before a word is on your tongue, I know it completely. I will hem you in behind and before; I have laid my hand upon you Beloved. You cannot go away from my Spirit. You cannot flee from my presence. If you go up to the heavens, I am there, if you make your bed in the depths, I am there. If you rise on the wings of the dawn, if you settle on the far-side of the sea, even there my hand will guide you. My right hand holds you fast my dear one. If you say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” even darkness is not dark to me; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to me. I created your inmost being; I knit you together in your mother’s womb. Your frame was not hidden from me when you were made in the ...

First day on the job

I guess this is my first posting. I am excited to have a forum where I may share my thoughts and hear from others. I hope you all enjoy. The chaos of my brain summed up: My mind is a bubbling jumbled bowl full of thoughts and ideas swirling and twirling, mixing and mingling. What I would like to know about you is what did you dream about being when you were a child? Warning: as an aspiring writer what you say could become a quote in something I write in the future. :)
