Random..really random post

Unfortunate pregnancy issue is sleeping in the guest bedroom because my bad back, hip and neck are no longer compatible with my super soft pillow top mattress but better with my hard as a rock mattress in the guest bedroom. That being said in a run on sentence none the less. I woke up this morning to a psycho cat running around like a maniac, Hubby's door still closed but Miss Wiggles door open. I knew a strange moment of panic I have to admit. Being that Hubby is always awake about 5am and going on 7am and Miss Wiggles hadn't made a peep. I felt a bit like I was in a Criminal Minds episode. I'm no good in the mornings. Anyway. Hubby really does look near death's door. I'm guessing super bad sinus infection and bronchitis. He always gets those when he gets a cold poor guy. As for Sarah's bedroom door, I'm guessing it just didn't get closed all the way last night as Hubby and I both were feeling crummy last night. Leo opened it to go check on her no doubt...

Rabbit trail, hair color

For a moment this evening I felt a bit like I missed what I call my "single days" which is actually just what I call the time Hubby and I didn't have our little wee ones. I happened across some awesome vacation pictures of some married friends of ours without kids and a bit of me was jealous for those bikini clad care free folk enjoying the spontaneity. Miss Wiggles is on her third ear infection since Christmas, fourth, since Thanksgiving. Miss Wiggles has had a cold. I think I had a cold but my allergies are just kind of bad anyway so who knows. Hubby? Hubby is very very sick. Poor guy, he is out for the count. Anyway my selfish side wished I was spending the weekend at a bed &breakfast instead of another weekend cleaning and nursing. I went through all my old pictures to see what fun things I was up to "back then". I didn't find much. We were boring "single" people. Now that I think of it. We didn't go to B&B's that often, maybe ...

Two Years of Awesome

July 4th we are having a....

Image
This little lady will be two on Wednesday. I promise to write more about that on Wednesday. For now I am excited to say she is going to have a little brother. In case you think there is still a possibility that we could have a girl, let me put your mind at ease. We are most definitely having a boy. I've seen the ultra sound. There is no question about it and we will leave it at that. ;) So, a boy. What are we going to do with a boy? Dan's a boy. I grew up with boys, didn't even really have good girl friends until high school and even then it was two out of many guy friends. So we should have this down pat right? I'm a little nervous. Boys get into everything. They like to see how much things can bend before they break or how many pieces one thing can become. They like to know if all surfaces look as great as paper with markers. Miss Wiggles is so extremely well behaved. She has no interest in the office or cabinets or the trash can. Colors are always on paper, she hate...

A reality of pregnancy

Image
The post about some fun things pregnancy related was uplifting. Eventually though, a little more of the "other" reality of pregnancy needs some face time. Heart burn and acid reflux. It started early this time. So while Tums are a major part of my diet, orange juice is not. I admit though, no one messes with my sausage pizza. They should. I won't let them. I just pop a bottle of these puppies and I'm good...until I spend the rest of the evening burping up Tropical Tum flavor. That's kind of gross. Burping is also a part of pregnancy. I am super thankful for the heating pad. sciatica is also a pregnancy thing I am working with. Physical therapy though has taken care of the worse of it. A good friend is also super sweet that she made me a heart shaped heating bag of rice I can keep on my neck for tension head aches. I'm normally addicted to chap stick but this isn't so much for my lips. Its for my nose. The newly thinned nasal tissue means a lot of dryn...

Switching sides

Somethings are worth all the work and all the wait. For quite a while, Miss Wiggles preferred me and shunned Daddy big time. It was quite draining on everyone especially when she was sick. Hubby dug his heals in however and would not give in. He does the bedtime routine every night. Every Saturday morning is their time. For a couple weeks if Miss Wiggles woke up, her daddy went to take care of her. Nap times on weekends Daddy went in to get her. He forced her to play with him and gave me time to myself. He loved on her until she couldn't resist it anymore. Finally here we are with one serious little Daddy's girl. I love watching them wedged into her little house together, drawing together, making crazy sounds together and singing. More importantly, as Miss Wiggles is sick this weekend, I am super excited she much prefers her daddy. I am so totally ok with that.

A Sweet Wreath fit for my Sweet Girl

Image
My sweet Wiggles now has her own wreath. I cut the center out of a large paper plate, cut two sizes of circles out of two kinds of scrap book paper, layered them, stamped them, glued them, put a ribbon on the back. Pretty simple. My colorful little girl inspires me. :) We both can't wait for sandal weather.

Miss Wiggles!

Wow, how time flies!! As I bake another bun in my over, I reminisce about the last wee one now turning two!! I can't believe it, two!! Stuff she does that makes me smile 1. Talks a lot and uses sentences 2. Says please and thank you...which means she gets super spoiled with affirmation for that. 3. She has friends she adores, talks about and loves to play with. 4. She loves to point out when I wear Daddy's pants. Mine are shrinking... 5. Sings and dances a lot 6. smiles, smiles smiles, laughs, laughs, laughs 7. Total jokester like her Daddy Hubby used Valentines Day as an excuse to get me a Cannon Rebel. The other camera died. It was time. I am very grateful. Miss Wiggles is my perfect little model to practice all my photo taking skills. My assistant is Picnik for photo editing. Good stuff.

Things my preggo self loves!

Only this morning I found the site, Shabby Apple full of dresses, specifically shirt waist dresses which I am a super sucker for. Imagine my excitement when I saw maternity shirt waist dresses and apron style . Wow! Just so you know, Fingerprints on my Fridge is doing a giveaway. I mention that because I want too. Rachelle is a blogger buddy of mine. These silver flip flops with faux rhinestones are snug in my closet waiting until cooler weather to wear out. I can't wait! These are from Old Navy. I like to look good just like the next girl. I admit I procrastinated about skinny jeans and like the crazy pregnant chick that I am, I bought a maternity pair as my first pair. These are from Old Navy. M&Ms, umh, that is kind of an all the time thing. :) St. Ives Collagen & Elastin lotion is also an all time favorite. It is also one of the only scents that I like as my nose is crazy sensitive to perfume and I can smell perfume a mile away which stuffs up my nose. This scent...

A peak inside my prayer journal

Image
My heart had gone dry towards journaling for quite a while and any attempts were more like a couple of lines. So when this afternoon a small crack opened in the wall and a little bit flowed out, I wanted to share it with you. Lord, I keep thinking of Hind's Feet on High Places as You take me on this journey. Though overall I have felt out in a fog, confused, occasionally the fire I have that burns for You deep inside flares and a moment of clarity hits me and I see the firm foundation of Christ You built beneath my feet. I feel You carry me over difficult ground, I feel You hand pull me higher up jagged cliffs. Once I was hungry for Your Word, seeking it, learning it. Yet, though I found even Greek becoming clear to me, I find myself clinging to even the first fundamentals; You are God, Jesus died for me, You chose me, You love me. That has been my manna in the desert. I've had to be satisfied with that. All along You continued working in me and around me and through me never l...

While I day dream of Spring...

Image
While I filled my mind with dreams of bulbs peaking out of dark fragrant soil and blooms as radiant as a rainbow, vegetables filling my garden with mouth watering goodness, God chose last night to spread a light quilt of greys and white across my peninsula off the Chesapeake. Eventually, Miss Wiggles and I will venture out to take pictures of this particular dusting. For now I remember snows from our home in the country before our last move to the sea. There was that little creek at the boarder of our yard and the bit of trees that offered lots of shade and imaginings of wild animals, fairies, wood nymphs and such. For now I thank God for this bit of snow as it is sure to saturate my soil preparing the right kind of nutrients that is needed. Yesterday I planted tomatoes, cucumbers, and a whole passel of flowers like Zinnia, Larkspur and Bachelor Buttons. At this moment spring holds so much promise. For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. Ecclesiaste...

A little Spring Day Dreaming

Image
As I grab yet another scarf and another cozy sweater, I think about all the things to come. Beautiful blooming flowers in lots of colors. Pantone may tell us the color Honeysuckle pink is 2011's color but Mother Nature was way ahead of them. My mouth waters thinking about the flourishing vegetable garden. What isn't to love about Spring? Ok maybe that. But, you have to admit. She is kinda pretty too. To see some other awesome "Good Life" pictures, head on over to The Beach Cottage .

The Sunday That Wasn't

Image
There was no way around it. Sneakers it was. As in sneakers to church. It wasn't so bad volunteering to help out with the four year olds (what an awesome age). Its just that I wear sneakers everyday. My sciatic nerve has been super bad with this pregnancy. So bad that Hubby had to help me to the guest bed at three in the morning. Our bed is pillow top but the guest bed just as well be a board. It unfortunately is what I need to relieve the pressure. Solitary confinement every night. Great. Love you Hubby, I guess we will again be able to share a bed some time way after this baby is born (because who sleeps with a newborn anyway). I know it is shallow but what I would really like to wear is my nude peep toe pumps with slight platform by Jessica Simpson (that isn't the actual shoe but close enough, you get the idea). I also have some super cute dresses I would love to wear but again, with sneakers, not so fab. I'm thinking every pregnant chick goes through this at some ...

How to be a work at home mom..no seriously, I'm asking!

Image
I've thought often about how the Proverbs 31 woman gets up before dawn and stays up well into the night, is in textiles, fashion and real estate. I could think of her as Donald Trump, Martha Stewart and Vera Wang all rolled up into one but then I have to remind myself that she most likely had a staff (it is a king's mom talking after all) and it isn't like she was going for the Fortune 500, she was just taking care of her family. As a Work at Home Mom, I'm learning to seriously get focus, discipline and structure. That last one is more of an ideal than anything. With a toddler and a pregnancy, its more of a dream but I digress. I am quite serious as I am into this new year to get rolling with my own jewelry business. It isn't easy especially since I am not actually disciplined or organized. Set in stone dead lines helps like craft and art shows or advertising dates on Etsy helps. Deadliines that are only in my head however are like brownies out of the oven. They don...
