And baby makes a family

Image
The very tired mommy and baby Daddy, Mommy and baby Sarah. The very proud parents Posted by the very proud Auntie, Michelle

Baby Sarah is here!

Baby Sarah's Aunt Michelle here. Katie had Baby Sarah today! She was 7 lbs and 15 oz and 21 3/4 inches. She's a little butterball. Her fat rolls have fat rolls. Sounds exactly like her cousins, Jamie and Faith, when they were born. That is only cute when you're a baby. :) Sarah did not like the contractions, so they had to do a c-section. Katie is sore, but doing well. And they are keeping an eye on Sarah over night in the nursery. As soon as mom sends pictures, I'll post them on here for you all to see.

Tomorrows the big day!

Tomorrow is the day. I am not as much thinking about the birthing part as much as the I'm going be a mom part. I can't believe I'm going to have a baby that Dan and I will be responsible for. As my friend, Matt, said today, there isn't any changing our minds at this point. So true and who would want too? :) I am so excited. My MIL, Sandra, came in yesterday so we are all officially ready. I thought with all the cleaning I did I would surely go into labor. I vacuumed and cleaned the bathroom floors. Nothing. Well, my back hurt like the dickens, thats about it. That is what I get for doing it bare foot. Even if I weren't pregnant that wouldn't have been a good idea. My mom will keep everyone updated. I will try to figure out a way to make sure I get info to you via this blog as soon as possible. Of course there will be pictures. I can't wait to lay eyes on this little girl.

A few of my favorite things

I think I was tired when I wrote my last post judging from the title. Oops. :) Yesterday started with snow followed up by rain. The day before was sunny. Today is sunny. I've decided I like all three weather conditions. Who doesn't like a light snow? Can't add to that. A sunny day? Always welcomed especially after a rainy day. A rainy day now, that holds a little bit of a special place. Rainy days tempt us to want to curl up under the covers longer, read a good book, get a long overdue cup of tea. I just got done reading my sister, CandyandLadybugs ' Teacher blog (to go to it, click HERE ). The very special education students and adults are all so important because of what they bring to our lives. Rainy days are like that. I am reminded to slow down, enjoy life a bit more, stop and take in the chamomile. A memory I have from childhood is waking up on a Saturday morning, stripping the sheets right off and throwing them in the washer. We would open the wind...

Update and thanksw

So no change. :( I haven't dialated effaced or nothing since well, the little I did like a month ago. Dude! So it appears that next Monday is the day. Whats another four days? Thank you all for your prayers. I know that you all are why I'm still pregnant (wait, I need to rethink that...I'm just kidding.) I know Sarah is going to be healthy and beautiful sheerly by the will of all of your prayers. You all are such a huge blessing to me and Dan.

Psalms

I am off to see my doctor again today. I'm definitely praying for progress. I will keep you updated. I might not write all the details of how far I've progressed though. I know there are a few guys who read this blog so I'll just tell you if there is or is not progress. What I will say is that I read Psalm 66 and 67 this morning. I really needed those verses. I am being so blessed by God but find my attitude does not match that truth. Of course this last week of waiting to deliver a baby impacts so I won't be to hard on myself, but I don't want to miss this opportunity to enjoy this unique time, my last week before "mommy-ing" begins. I want to treasure this little one being formed in my womb as Psalm 139 says. I may not know her face, her cry or her touch yet, but my God is fully acquainted with every bit of her. She is His creation.

Small update

Not much going on here. I'm in a major holding pattern waiting for this little girl to get here. I think I'm done with the nesting because I seriously don't feel like doing anything. Good thing my mom is here 'cause I might just sleep all day. I suppose the rest is good though considering I won't get to much of that soon.

Dr.'s visit today.

Update: There has been no progress on the baby front but I am scheduled to be unduced Feb.23 at 8am so if Sarah doesn't get here by then, then she most likely arrive on her due date. I'm so ready! Original message: Today is another dr.'s visit. I hope, I hope I have made some real progress. I am so ready! My sis, Michelle said she had already had her second, Faith by now. I'm not jealous though........ My sciatic nerve is not hurting as badly any more so that makes things a lot more bearable. Mom and I went to the mall on Monday and walked around a lot. Walking actually helps. Sitting not so much. I have an excercise ball that is crucial for releaving the remaining back pain. I also have a tennis ball Dan uses to massage my back. I love it and so does Leo it turns out so I guess when I'm done with it, it will be a cat toy. Who knew. I will update later on my doctors visit. I can't wait, just can't wait to know how much progress I've made.

Thankful stuff and hopefully a good laugh and or cringe

Wow, I sure went from posting a lot to not very much here lately. I've been thinking about some things. Well, not deep thoughts but I thought I would share. First, expecting a carbonated drink when you take a big gulp of a non-carbonated drink is traumatic. There is no way you can finish the thing after that no matter what the drink is. Just not possible. Second, expecting a movie to be a comedy when it isn't, especially when what you really need is a comedy. Case in point, Smart people with Dennis Quaid and Sarah Jessica Parker, The Break Up with Jennifer Anniston and The Up Side of Anger. I watched the Break Up when Dan was in Iraq because I needed a comedy very badly. I had to go on a walk and cry after. Ok, I was kind of depressed to start with but the movie so did not help. Enough about that. How about some things I'm thankful for. 1. I'm still thankful for my hubby Dan (though my pastor, Todd, asks whats up with all my kuddos towards Dan and am I feelin...

Just a little update

I am currently hanging out with my mom and Erin. Erin spent the night so we watched Becoming Jane. We hopefully will be able to finish it today. Mom made us french toast out of cinnamon swirl bread. Dan is loving his job. He loves the people he is working with. He doesn't so much care for the commute. I got him the Elijah Bible Study on CD by Curtis Jones. So far he says he loves it. Its fifteen minutes a devotion so at least it takes up some of his time. He also had the Bible on his IPOD (did I write that right?). This weekend we will go to Buckroe Beach to check out a possible rental a dear friend is willing to let us rent for while. That would be so nice. The endless possibilities for what the next six months holds is both exciting and overwhelming. When will we get this house sold? Where will we live? Will we rent? How long? What will the house we buy be like? Where will it be? How long until Dan won't have to commute? When will this winter be over, its s...

Dan's first day of school... I mean work

Image
Finally, I can post. I don't know what was wrong, but my computer wasn't letting me sign in to my blog. Phew! I finally made it. Dan is so excited about his new job, he was like a kid on his first day of school. It was pretty awesome to watch him talk about his day as well as listen when he got home last night. He is so expressive. Yesterday morning he was so nervous. He didn't want to wear a red tie because he didn't want to stick out. I think any one who knows my hubby knows shyness is not a word used to describe him. :) Well then, not shy, maybe anxious and excited...with a little shy thrown in. I'm just sayin'. ;) I'm just so happy for him and excited myself to see all the ways God is going to use him as he is getting back into his career field. I just can't wait until we can be down there near his work. That commute everyday is quite long...really long. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Today is our snow day. I can't believe yeste...
