Thankful stuff and hopefully a good laugh and or cringe

Wow, I sure went from posting a lot to not very much here lately.

I've been thinking about some things. Well, not deep thoughts but I thought I would share. First, expecting a carbonated drink when you take a big gulp of a non-carbonated drink is traumatic. There is no way you can finish the thing after that no matter what the drink is. Just not possible. Second, expecting a movie to be a comedy when it isn't, especially when what you really need is a comedy. Case in point, Smart people with Dennis Quaid and Sarah Jessica Parker, The Break Up with Jennifer Anniston and The Up Side of Anger. I watched the Break Up when Dan was in Iraq because I needed a comedy very badly. I had to go on a walk and cry after. Ok, I was kind of depressed to start with but the movie so did not help.

Enough about that. How about some things I'm thankful for.

1. I'm still thankful for my hubby Dan (though my pastor, Todd, asks whats up with all my kuddos towards Dan and am I feeling guilty about something. No, I'm just a good wife...so there :).

2. Still thankful my mom is here to help out. I'm surprised how easy it has been to let her step in and do the cleaning, cooking and laundry. I tried to get some stuff done Friday before she got up and landed myself on the couch the rest of the day. This pregnancy would be so much easier if it weren't for this stinkin' sciatic nerve. I can't lift my cat off the ground for Pete's sake (or Leo's sake rather).

3. I'm thankful for our current warm weather. It is just so awesome to open windows and let the breeze flow through.

4. Saturday, Dan, Mom, and I went to Hampton Roads. Erin came along for the day and we all had lunch with our other friends, Phil, Natalie and their little guy, Braydon. We went to check out a possible condo to rent. Erin, Mom and I fell in-love with it. The condo is right on a beach next to a marina. I was speechless. Dan and I both were ready to just buy the place and live there for ever. I think if we did then my mom would never leave, but she promised she would...eventually.

Speaking of lunch on Saturday. Funny story (depending on who you are in the story). While eating our meal at the unamed restaurant, my mom noticed some liquid spilling onto the floor from a neigboring table. She thought the parents seemed quite oblivious to their little girl's drink spilling until it occured to her that maybe said liquid wasn't coming from the table. The little girl just went right on eating as she peed on her chair. Mom brought it to my attention and wow, did that little girl have a big bladder. We debated what to do, whether to mention something to the yet oblivious parents. Mom opted to go get one of the clean up guys to come over. He came over with a mop, mopped around the girl's chair. Parents still didn't catch on or look. Then as their meal ended, the mom noticed and asked the dad what the liquid was, he looks and nonchallantry says the little girl must have had an accident. At this point, mom gets horrified and covers her head with her hands. Dad suggests Mom takes her to bathroom at which point Mom is like what good would that do so Dad takes girl to car as Mom hureddly cleans up their food and they leave. Dad did take some napkins at least and wipe off the chair...just napkins. So we are expecting a clean up crew to come along but before they do, another couple comes along and takes the table. At this point the guy grabs some napkins, wipes the table off, then the chair (yes that chair) and then the table again. This is where in the fits of our horrified laughter we feel completely awful because we didn't stop this couple, or inform them or anything. Mom proceeded to find a manager and explain what happen so when that couple left you could smell the clorox bleach after that clean up crew (yes three people) came and cleaned everything up.

So I don't claim to be a good person though I try because that will forever be a moment I look back on and think I so should have said something. That and the time I saw a girl in high school who's skirt was tucked up under her backpack.
