How to be a work at home mom..no seriously, I'm asking!

I've thought often about how the Proverbs 31 woman gets up before dawn and stays up well into the night, is in textiles, fashion and real estate. I could think of her as Donald Trump, Martha Stewart and Vera Wang all rolled up into one but then I have to remind myself that she most likely had a staff (it is a king's mom talking after all) and it isn't like she was going for the Fortune 500, she was just taking care of her family.

As a Work at Home Mom, I'm learning to seriously get focus, discipline and structure. That last one is more of an ideal than anything. With a toddler and a pregnancy, its more of a dream but I digress. I am quite serious as I am into this new year to get rolling with my own jewelry business. It isn't easy especially since I am not actually disciplined or organized. Set in stone dead lines helps like craft and art shows or advertising dates on Etsy helps. Deadliines that are only in my head however are like brownies out of the oven. They don't last.

Kristen at Rage Against the Minivan recently shared her own journey as a work at home mom.

I am very curious how other people do this. Right now I have a good nap time and an early bed time to my advantage. Once the bun in my oven arrives however...well, I try not to think about it.

Right now I'm not in jewelry making mode as much as get my Etsy store thriving which is marketing which is make money mode. I admit as much as I love wearing my jewelry, I hate the idea of becoming "that person" when ever I walk into a room. You know her; the one that you hide a little longer in your bathroom stall just so you don't have to get pined up againts the air blower listening to another "buy my stuff" shpeal (is that even a word?). I still remember one incident with an in-home party lady... it wasn't pretty.

I think that was a tangent. So basically, I am trying to learn to squeeze a little work in here or there and ponder the idea of a regular baby sitter once a week at least. Who knows. We will see. Its a work in progress.
