Rabbit trail, hair color
For a moment this evening I felt a bit like I missed what I call my "single days" which is actually just what I call the time Hubby and I didn't have our little wee ones. I happened across some awesome vacation pictures of some married friends of ours without kids and a bit of me was jealous for those bikini clad care free folk enjoying the spontaneity. Miss Wiggles is on her third ear infection since Christmas, fourth, since Thanksgiving. Miss Wiggles has had a cold. I think I had a cold but my allergies are just kind of bad anyway so who knows. Hubby? Hubby is very very sick. Poor guy, he is out for the count. Anyway my selfish side wished I was spending the weekend at a bed &breakfast instead of another weekend cleaning and nursing. I went through all my old pictures to see what fun things I was up to "back then". I didn't find much. We were boring "single" people. Now that I think of it. We didn't go to B&B's that often, maybe three times. We've done Washington DC a few times. Once we went to San Diego for a few days. Ok, I guess we weren't that bad We did go to the beach with friends but we still do that.
I did find some of my different hair colors and styles which was fun though. I have to admit that once my lap top resting against my belly started dancing, the desire for the "single" life left me. I love watching my lap top bounce on my growing belly. I've a feisty one here. This little guy is going to be super energetic. I know, I know, get lots of sleep before the baby comes, I'm going to need it.
Back to the hair thing. Hold on, it gets a little shallow from here on out. :)
Right after Hubby left for Iraq in 2007 I went to the hair salon and had very light blond and super red streaks put in my hair. I won't tell you how much that cut and color cost. I nearly had a heart attack and died. I have colored my hair similar to this once before I met Hubby, platinum blond, purple, dark brown streaks and a really short hair cut that was cool then but now that I think about it was a little to much like the Kate Gossilin hair but a bit longer. It worked in 2002. Anyway, Hubby didn't like change so much back in 2007. He is much better about it now.
That blond shoulder length is pretty much the typical me. Secretly I'm kind of over it. Blond is great and all but there are just so many colors out there.
Which is why I was not upset when a hair stylist accidentally gave me auburn hair. I was so excited. Ever since third grade I have wanted brown hair but I've always been told blonds should be happy with their hair so I never did it. Thank you, thank you you terrible hair stylist. I loved being a brunette even if it was for only a few weeks.
Besides, I may not be able to venture to far from my blond locks but Miss Wiggles did bring out the curl in my hair so I am excited to be able to choose everyday whether I want curly or straight hair...
