My goal for health based fitness rather than numbers based fitness is #1, ditch the scale.
Oh, I gone and done it now! I joined a social networking site aimed specifically at helping moms commit to fitness and health. Click here to check on bookieboo.
I have some goals as far as this body is concerned. I want to be more healthy; mind, body and, spirit. Working out not only keeps the calorie count down, the fat to a healthier level but it also helps the mind handle stress better and gives more energy. With Dan's new job, a new baby in the house, the same house we are trying to sell, a good work out is useful. I'm no fan of a work out routine so I know I will have to liven' things up a bit. I would love to get back to kayaking at least once a month. I love hiking. Walking with the stroller to start my day is just sweet. The house we are looking to buy has a pool...saweet! We have a total gym, olympic weight set, and an ellyptical machine. Oh yeah, and the mall, parks and side walks. There is also my Enrique Eglesias CD. I love salsa dancing. This should help with variety in my goal for physical and mental health. Honestly this isn't as much of a concern for me as the whole eating thing. I don't much care for cooking so I like instant. I do eat a lot of fish which is good, but we also eat out a lot and its never healthy. I love Sonic. Good thing there isn't an In and Out burger joint here. Then I would be in really big trouble.
Anyway, thats the lay out and plan so far. I'm not one for organization and discipline on my own. Its a good thing my hubby was training to be a personal trainer before we met. He's a big help.
So, I've thrown it out there. I guess this kind of will help me stay commited. One other thing I did to help me keep my focus where it should be is ditching the scales. I put the scale in the attic. This isn't about numbers, its about health for my mind, body, and spirit.
