Those four gals from Matthew chapter 1, I'de invite them over for Chi Tea

Image
This week, Miss Wiggles will be 1! The big 1! Oh the amazing blessing she is. Miss Wiggles, you delight me with your laughter, warm my heart with your happy sighs, excite me with your singing and tickle me with your dancing. I joyfully eat the slobber covered food you feed me and engage you in conversation though I don't know what your saying. Daddy loves his Saturday morning time with you and though you don't know it sometimes I'm not sleeping in. I'm laying there quietly listening to you and Daddy on the moniter laughing and smiling at your antics. How could I be this blessed. Hubby just informed me "I'de" isn't a word. Well, it is now and if ain't can make it into the dictionary.... This morning our interim pastor talked about Rahab. You know how I love Rahab. I've really been trying to get to know her and the other three gals mentioned in Matthew chapter one. I would love to some time do a series on it. Maybe sometime. Here are some...

I'm a little Audrey Channel

Image
I recently found this quize, which style icon are you most like on the Daily Glow. I loved it because I actually felt like I could answer the questions honestly and of course it said I'm most like Audrey Hepburn. I love Audrey Hepburn! Judging from some of the questions, my hypothosis is I like pearls like Coco Chanel and I know Audrey didn't do loose undone curls (which I am working towards getting). I used to be so purposeful about my style. Now, well, I have two people to get dressed everyday and even less amount of time than I used to. I do need to work on not venturing into the realm of What Not to Wear candidate which I'm getting dangerously close to. Umh, I need to go work out and take a shower, not just take a shower because of the work out, I need it anyway.

So, I have this super bad habit that is very not endearing.

I am going to confess something. Mostly because I just left a comment on another blog that made me think of it. So I have this trait that is super annoying that has deemed me the nickname Norton from Hubby. Norton because Norton is owned my Symantec and Symantec sounds a lot like semantics . That's the annoying habit, the semantics . Without even thinking about it, I correct my husband's pronunciation or recalling of events or use of words. Go ahead, tell me a joke, I will probably analyze it first. I try to be goofy but that generally is the result of being nervous. You know that character on Bones, the annoyingly literal bone lady? Well at least she is a genius. I'm not. so that makes my a super duper hypocrite correcting Hubby and anyone else that I forget myself and correct. I am a terrible speller and have no room to talk (or write I guess) as I'm sure ya'll have figured out if you have read my block for any length of time. So that is my conf...

Coastal Living and Teething...they don't have anything to do with each other.

I won my first give away recently. I'm super excited. Sarah at A Beach Cottage was doing a give away of Magazine subscriptions to Coastal Living . I love Coastal Living magazine because while many other home magazines leaving me feeling like my house isn't good enough, Coastal Living always inspires me and I come away saying, "I can so totally do that!". I mean, seriously, add some white paint to just about anything and Ta Da a coastal home or cottage. Anyway, Coastal Living Magazine always inspires me to something that is attainable rather than inspiring me then breaking my DIY heart. No Coastal Living isn't paying me to write that, however if they wanted... :) Umh, anywho, on to other things. Poor Miss Wiggles is teething something fierce and what ever teeth she is trying to break free are no where in site. I am at a loss as to how to help her out. My poor baby girl looks so miserable. We do Orajel, Motrin, lots of lovies and that is about it. She doe...

Wow, so some of Jesus grandmothers; a prostitute, an adulteress, interacial marriages?

I love that Jesus was so radical more so, God is radical. Or is it that we are radical as in radically off base about the God we follow? The four women mentioned in the genealogy of Jesus in Matthew chapter one makes reference to four of Jesus' great great great....grandmothers. Tamar: Canaanite woman widowed two times over disguised as a prostitute to get pregnant by her father-in-law (Genesis 38) who upon finding out she was pregnant by him said, "She is more righteous than I, since I wouldn't giver her to my son Shelah." Are you confused? Does that make sense? Its definitely something to chew over. If I'm leaving out details, you know its on purpose to get you to go read it. You won't regret it. The story is awesome on so many levels. Rahab: a prostitute from Jericho (Joshua 2) who is the mother to Boaz Ruth: a Moabitess (those people born of a daughter getting her father drunk and getting pregnant as a result) widow of an Israelite who then marries Boaz.(b...

Following and assisting balanced with leading and molding

Hubby gave me a Pink dragon for Valentines Day. As I was about to drift off to sleep for a rare Sunday afternoon nap, I found that this little pink dragon loves kisses, can sing and dance to Miley Cyrus' Party in the USA. She, though it is a manly yet high pitched voice, wanted to snuggle in and nap with me, which she did for three hours. We were tired. Who wouldn't be after partying in the USA. Any one else out there disturbed that Hubby knows the words to Party in the USA? Thank the LORD, literally, that he is done with that almost two hour commute. Another of his favorite singers is Lady GAGA. On to other topics. I've been wondering about toys and how to help Miss Wiggles utilize that small amount of time she has that she is awake these days. We have lots of toys but she doesn't utilze half of them. There are a lot of things that are just that, things. They are toys that are just toys. We do have some that are more usefull, things that will help her grow her mind and...

Beauty is now wasted on the youth, at least not these youth.

Oh how I wish I could convey it. By "it" I mean that thing my church in Richmond Virginia has. That wonderous fire in their hearts from God that leads them forward, makes them strive to be different. My time there developed friendships with people three times my age as well as some friends not yet even old enough to drive. I treasure these friendships and thank God, literally, for Facebook that connects us as I am now in another season of my life miles away from their beautiful smiles, their open and grace filled embraces. Today I will be making the trek and taking those precious pieces of jewelry hand crafted by the hands of the youth at Friendship Baptist Church to the Richmond CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates of foster children to give them the jewelry to give to the foster kids. I have yet to be so proud of anyone as I am of these youth. I've seen their minds know no bounds in their kindness making food for "shut ins" and raising money for Breast C...
