Beauty is now wasted on the youth, at least not these youth.
Oh how I wish I could convey it. By "it" I mean that thing my church in Richmond Virginia has. That wonderous fire in their hearts from God that leads them forward, makes them strive to be different. My time there developed friendships with people three times my age as well as some friends not yet even old enough to drive. I treasure these friendships and thank God, literally, for Facebook that connects us as I am now in another season of my life miles away from their beautiful smiles, their open and grace filled embraces.
Today I will be making the trek and taking those precious pieces of jewelry hand crafted by the hands of the youth at Friendship Baptist Church to the Richmond CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates of foster children to give them the jewelry to give to the foster kids. I have yet to be so proud of anyone as I am of these youth. I've seen their minds know no bounds in their kindness making food for "shut ins" and raising money for Breast Cancer awareness. They help in with childrens church, VBS and time to time confiscated Miss Wiggles to show around the church.
This Valentines Day there will be foster children gifted with the awesome genrosity that I came to expect from my youth group. Yes "my" youth group. I may be gone from their physically, but my heart will always have a big rec room in it just for them.

Indeed God knew what He meant and meant what He was saying when He told us that "it is more blessed to give than receive." For, no doubt, that is one of the parts in us that is made in His image! His image is definitely showing itself in you!
