Time machine

If you could go back in time to change one event, what would it be? Why would you change it. How would you change the event and for what outcome? If you wouldn't then that is a good answer too, just explain why you wouldn't.

Adolf Hitler wrote a book that if every one had read it, then maybe the two World Wars wouldn't have happened and then maybe the holocaust would not have taken place. I would go back in time and make sure every one read Adolf Hitler's book so that they would know what he was up too.

I might also go back in time and smack Sarah upside her head when the first thought of giving Hagar to Abraham entered her head. Then we wouldn't have this problem with the middle east maybe.

If I could change one event it would be to have been born in the 30's or 40's. I love the 50's and the moral of our country, home life, clothes, foods (which most were home-made even things like mayo), and values. Things seemed so much simpler then, neighbors spoke with one another, keys were left in cars, and front doors weren't locked. Toys were simpler then and kids appreciated a yo-yo and soda pop. Of course I see society needed to change with racism, CIA being allowed to off people, lack of trust for other countries, sexuality beginning to boom in America, etc. In my perfect event change none of that exists. I loved when the 50's era clothes swept through a few years back. I can't wait for it to cycle through again.
I've thought a lot about how things could be different. Like if my dad didn't get a job with WalMart and we still lived in Lincoln. I'd never learned how to make new friends so easily, and I'd never have met Joe! And that has been the best thing!

I sure wouldn't go back and try to help my parents stay together. We have such a wonderful dad now. And he makes our mom sooooooo happy. At least my mom got 5 great kids from that other guy.

I don't think I'd like to live in another era. There are cures for diseases that killed back in time. And there are things that we have today that make life easier, and more pleasent.

I'm a strong believer in being at peace with what you have. So I don't think I'd change a thing. :)
