My Birthday

Yesterday was my Birthday and today Dan and I are going to a bed and breakfast for the weekend. Yesterday was so much fun. I hung out with a friend, S, for coffee and another friend from Hampton and two new friends who flew in to see her from California. It was so much fun. I was able to see the Confederate White House and just see that side of the Civil War. The coolest part was standing in the library where Abraham Lincoln stould afer Jefferson Davis booked it back South. I also really am impressed with Verina Davis, Jefferson's second wife. She was well educated and engaged men in conversation and was able to hold her own while other women were bragging about not having read a single book their entire adult life. Imagine that! reading not being lady like. Wow. Verina broke that mold. Veracious Verina.

Last night, we had a great dinner and had a lot of fun conversating around the dinner table. I haven't felt that relaxed and at peace in quite some time, so I know that God's gift was the peace I felt all day.
