Dan and I had a lot of fun with his family this year. We stayed with his parents and then Christmas day went to his grandparents. That was a lot of fun. They are an energetic bunch so the desible lever was pretty high. It was so much fun watching the kids playing and laughing. Dustin and Jordan's new baby girl is a week old now. I got to hold her and fell in-love instantly. It was nice to see Papa as his health as been very bad lately. Dan really loves his grandfather so it meant a lot to him. The family does a gift exchange that is always rowdy fun. Stealing presents is always sure to cause a ruckus. I stole a tool set from Alicia but then traded her for the make up bags she ended with since I had been wanting some make up bags any way. Dan ended with an electric sander which is perfect for him. Good times, good times. I went out one of the days there with Dan's dad. We had a nice time, bought some movies and went for ice cream. I finally got a blue tooth for Christmas from Dan so I am now much safer on the roads. :)
I am so thankful that it works out that New Years falls right after Christmas. We spend so much time working up to Christmas that the day after would be a real buzz kill. The after Christmas sales are great and then we get New Years. By then I am okay with the back to every day life. I know that I have things on the agenda for after the New Years. Dan is going to start on making a floating floor for the crawl space. That will then be the work out room. For winter we will have to have a space heater put in and a window, but it will be great. I am going to work on finishing up the painting which includes repainting to kitchen. The color has outlived it's welcome.
I am still of course looking for a job. The interview I went on before Christmas was some what of a wake up call. As I listened to what they were looking for and what the position entailed I found that though I think the interview went really well, as I have thought about it, there is some major improvements I need to make. Since then, though it has only been a week, I have plowed forward mapping out my plan and structuring my time to make my productivity more efficient. I am hoping eventually to see some positive results from these changes that will further spur more changes. The books I am reading on leadership and management are really good.
Dan and I haven't quite decided what we will do for New Years. We are thinking we will either go to friends in Hampton or go to a local street party that sounds really good. We will see.
