New Years Rundown
Dan and I had a lot of possibilities for how we would ring in the New Year. There was a home party, a church party, sleeping no party, and a block party. We stayed pretty open with not to many definitive answers since we didn't know how tired Dan would be from a tough day at work. He came home at a decent time so we headed out, with friends, to a block party in downtown. There were lots of people, some on roof top apartments throwing beads, others milling around and waiting. There was a ball similar too Time Square's and a singer who was a cross between Elvis and Johnny Cash. Close to the end of the evening he sang some of my Cash favorites and I danced. Finally the ball dropped a couple of fireworks went off and then the mass compact exodus began.
Conversation was good all evening. Dan and I got to know our new friends a lot better. I am excited about the quality time. The only negative thing I would say was the smoking. I couldn't believe in such a packed crowd there were so many smokers. I thought for sure one of us would go away with a burned coat. No one did though, and my sinuses will need a couple days to recuperate from this sinus head ache.
This was officially my first New Years spent going out (besides playing games at friend's houses). This will most likely be my last as well. Sardines aren't my thing. Being one isn't either.
New Years Resolution: Not just remember Birthdays, but at least send a card, hopefully on time. Pray for me. ;)
