Good Friday

Looking out my window this morning I looked into my eroded back yard where nary a blade of grass can grow and by two trees are two batches of daffodils three in each grouping. In such an environment where no sun reaches them and the soil is bare eroded and over run with tree roots are six little daffodils. What comes to mind is a friend of my sister who has a blog called Blooms Where Planted. That is what I want to be. I want to bloom where God puts me no matter the kind of soil, the amount of sun or water and regardless of who else is hogging my space.

I have made it my commitment in life to be an example of God's unconditional love, unconditional forgiveness and unconditional mercy. Some day I hope to say I have achieved this goal. I forget sometimes that this does not mean soft fluffy and all kinds of warm fuzzies for every step I take. A good associate of mine once told me he sees me as a lamb among lions. I walk among people who either could put a sailor's mouth to shame and/or who's focus is very much on the here and now, self seeking and some times not entirely honest in their dealings. When I worked in the court system my eyes were really opened to the depravity of the human soul, what lows we are capable of as human beings and how seeking out what is best for me can not only back fire but hurt others as well. So what I have learned is that though I am a lamb among lions, this little lamb has not forgotten that though she has no sharp teeth I have some very hard little hooves that have their own impact. My savior went as a lamb to the slaughter and defeated Satan. So if my God is for me who can be against me.

I pray that you all take this weekend to remember what our purpose is all about and what God has in store for you for your eternity.
