Mother's Day weekend.
I have had such a nice weekend. Dan took Erin and me out to dinner Sat. night for Mother's Day. Dan and I had made homemade cards for our moms. That was a lot of fun. We put lots of love into them. Dan made his own card and it turned out really cool. On Mother's Day I went to D.C. with Erin to pick up her Aunt Angie from the air port. It was pretty stormy and D.C. is easy to get lost in so I went along as her assistant. On the way back, Aunt Angie shared with me about her experience with cancer and how God spoke to her through it. He continued faith in God through Jesus Christ during her experiences is a great testimony. She trusted God when she believed he said she would be healed of her cancer especially when she got cancer for a second time. What I heard her say was that God told her that he would heal her but she had to walk through this ordeal that God could be glorified but his intent was not to harm her. Today she has come through her experience a stronger, faith centered confident woman. She told me she has learned not to put her faith in others or even herself but rather to put her faith and trust in God because He does not break His promises. His Word is true.
This reminds me of the fiery furnace in Daniel. During a Bible study a year or so ago, I learned that God will deliver us but it isn't always going to look the same. He will do one of three ways; deliver us from the fire, through the fire and to the fire. There are cancer patients who wake up one day and the cancer is gone or addicts who's addictions are gone. There are cancer patients who are healed after long times of treatments and then there are those who are delivered to the fire. The awesome thing about having complete faith in the Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ is that death is not an end and it is not a punishment. Sometimes God rewards His children with an early return home to be with Him. It is awesome to know and believe where we are going and it is a beyond imaginable, awesome, Heaven with an eternal celebration with Jesus Christ.
Any how, last night Erin, Aunt Angie, and I had great conversations about God's word. All three of us had different takes on particular parts of scripture so it was a great opportunity to listen and share.
This week I will be continuing on with my writing, my job searching as well as doing the Breaking Free Bible Study by Beth Moore on my own in preparation to facilitate it in the fall at church. I am very excited and humbled. I fervently pray for those God will choose to impact through this study and I pray that they receive it.
Any how that is about it. I miss you guys and gals who are so far away. I hope every body makes this week great!
