Bring on the Rain
I am so thankful to be able to see faith in Jesus played out in the lives of my fellow Christ followers. I am filled with joy when I see blessings poured out through happy moments. However the mountains of my heart are moved when I see the blessings poured out in moments of struggle, grief and sorrow. I have been praying for friends who are struggling in their marriage and have held friends after the grief of lost loved ones. There is something about standing with a fellow believer amidst their storm expecting to be a comfort only to realize Christ in them has plans for me as well. Those are truly humbling moments where my own shame of unbelief comes to light. I am amazed when those I observe are filled with the peace of Jesus' promises, they are not alone and He is still in control. Oh, how I stood doubting even as I prayed for them.
I recently found the site for Lifeway marriage that contains many supportive and helpful articles from couples willing to share what God has imparted to them. I have also come across a blog by a woman named Angie, married to a guy in the band Selah. They recently lost their daughter Audrey from complications due to Downs Syndrome. I can't even begin to tell you how blessed I have been by her willingness to lay her heart bare is such a way as she continues to struggle with sadness but never struggles from lack of faith in Her Savior Jesus Christ. Both are in my today's featured links. I hope you can be as blessed by these fellow believers as I have.
