Math
So I may not need to worry about it now, but it is something I am thinking about. I am going to really have to be careful about how I present my personal experiences with math to Sarah. Its no secret that when ever I am faced with figuring anything out mathematically my brain freezes. Don't ask me how much anything costs after you take of the 25% off or what ever sales cut. I'm clueless to this day. It isn't that I couldn't figure it out but that my mind may be dumping it like a cockroach in my cereal bowl. I am thinking I will definitely have to present math as super fun, maybe over do it a bit so Sarah won't see the brain cells in my head come to a screeching halt when ever I see numbers. I can honestly say that tactic may fit in at my house. If any body has been to my home you can see how much we love reading with a book case in almost every room, leather book furniture and now decorative books on our bed side tables, I'm thinking if our children don't like books its through no fault of ours. :)

I did when I was in the 6th grade. I had a horrible teacher who broke the room up into two sides, the "smart" side and the "slow" side. She put me on the slow side. That's how my long term fear of math took place. I didn't conquer it until my third year of college.
I learned in my college math class for Early Childhood Education teachers that students will believe what WE believe about subjects. You are right, you need to present math to Sarah as fun and learn-able. She will feed off of your attitude.
Please remind me of this when I start homeschooling (by the way, I wasn't homeschooled :D).
Lastly, where did you purchase your bookcases? My husband and I would like to buy some. But we'd like some good quality ones that will last a long time.
