3rd Trip to Labor and Delivery

I was bored and didn't know what to write about so I had Dan take me to the hospital again so I could post about it...just kidding.

I had a stomach bug (not the flu) yesterday. This left me with some pretty serious serious chills at 2:30 in the morning. Never having had chills where I shook so bad my hands clenched at my chest, I did indeed have Dan take me to the ER. They did some tests, hooked me up to an IV of a lot of fluid and then sent me up to Labor and Delivery for a non-stress test for Sarah. Oh, yeah and in there I got an ultra sound and we saw Sarah sucking her thumb all kicked back like, yeah, I wasn't worried about her.

Well, a surprise unplanned part of the non-stress test for me was when a doctor walked in and very seriously told me I would be having a C-Section at 8am. My face conveyed my shock clearly because the poor doctor's eyes got huge and he said, "Oh, your the stress test?" He numbly walked out and since Dan followed him out to go get my coat from the ER, he saw the doctor walk up to a nurse, put his hands on her shoulders and say, "What a way to start the morning I just told that poor girl she is going to have a C-Section." I could hear the nurse laugh from my room. Good grief.

Well Sarah aced her non-stress test with three active movements with an elevated heart rate for fifteen seconds each in ten minutes. She only needed one in an hour so there is my little over achiever at work. She takes after her daddy.

So hopefully the fourth trip to L&D will result in a cute little car seat warmer. I'd like that, my insides need a break.

That is a good sign for Sarah's sucking reflex! How cute the she can calm herself by sucking on her thumb. She can't lose that in her crib. :) I'm so glad you're feeling better.

I'm glad you're all better now, and so is Sarah!

By the way, I love the name Sarah. That name is VERY dear to my heart.

My sister-in-law named her daughter Sarah Ashley. They call her "Sarah Ashley." It's a beautiful name.
