What it takes to survive a crisis

I found this really good article called, What it Takes to Survive a Crisis. It goes into the psychology surrounding why some people survive what seems unsurvivable and why some don't, as well as why some people seem luckier than others (or in the case of this picture, ducks). I think you will find it very eye opening. I definitely did so I want to share it with you. So just click on the title and read away.

So there is this very gross thing about pregnancy (among others but I won't go into those) that I just don't think is right. I've decided instead of referring to a 'mucus cap' as...well...that, I am officially (as officially as I can) referring to it as the baby cap. Maybe this is TMI for some of you, but well, it was on my mind and I just thought I'd share. Your welcome. :)

My mom cleaned my house today. :) I helped a little bit, but only as much as she would let me and I was honestly ok with that. She cleaned the bathrooms, vacuumed, dusted, cleaned my living room, my kitchen, and did my laundry. We finished it off with some Crunch 'n Munch some internet surfing and a meaningful conversation where we both teared up. Now how about those apples? I love my mom.

If you haven't noticed yet, I keep changing my profile picture. I discovered a website, www.picnic.com that I can alter my pictures. Okay, so this current one is kind of...wierd, but I had fun doing it. Its a good site by the way. There are all kinds of things you can do and its free. Free is good.

Update: Sorry, really didn't like the picture so put the old one back up.

The baby bag is packed, the mommy bag is packed (with some stuff for daddy too) and the boppy is already in the car. I'm figuring at this point it would be good to go ahead and start taking these things with me where ever I go. I can't leave it in the car over night 'cause of food, but it wouldn't do me any good to leave it at home. The homestretch. I'm so excited, I feel like those kids in the Disney commercials who can't sleep. :)

I only have one more thank you note to write and I have also been pre-addressing the envelopes for the baby annoucements. I also did a bunch with the baby book. Rare is the moment I'm ever this organized. Never will it happen again no doubt.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not that I need to yet, but I have already found internet sites with free recipes and ideas for homemade baby food. I figure at this point I can have big aspirations. It might now work, but no point starting out with a pessimistic attitude. I think I'll share them with you.
Wholesome Baby Food
Gourmet Baby Food
Any hoo, that is it for all my ramblings of the day. I hope you all are enjoying today. Its rainy and grey here which always reminds me of Jane Austen movies.
Thanks for visiting my blog and CONGRATS on having a baby! I am so excited for you! I'll probably be hanging out at your blog for a little bit tonight, just catching up...and getting to know you! I love "meeting" new people!
Thanks for sharing that survival article with us! I have never heard of the London train station fire of 1987 until reading the article. I had to do some research on it...after all, I was only two at the time :D
Thanks for sharing!
Hi! You were ahead of me on roll call today at SITS! I want to wish you good luck with your delivery! Oh and the homemade baby food is a great idea, but don't do what I did...I started my little one on the jarred stuff and then she refused to eat the homemade. If I had started her on the homemade it would have been alot easier!
