My Precious
I'm back! I can't believe I'm a mommy. Sarah is so precious. Having had a c-section has been difficult since it has really kept me from carrying her and feeding her. thankfully my mom is here and Dan had last week off plus a bit of a snow day yesterday. He worked from home so just his presence was nice. Dan's mom was here last week and its a good thing she left when she did. As it was, she had to rent a car to get home because the last part of her flight was canceled. Fortunately she only had a three hour drive home. It was so so nice having my MIL here. She is such a great lady.
No amount of telling or anything else can prepare a person for what its like to have a baby. As soon as I heard Sarah cry in the operating room, I began to cry. I'm absolutely hooked. She was absolutely worth the wait. I certainly have not forgotten about Adam and Charis. They are still in my heart. Now Sarah has her own special place in my heart. She is just captivating. Sunday, she looked at me, puckered her lips then smiled. Totally precious. Ok, so then she spit up because that is apparently why newbies smile, but it was no less adorable.
Thank you to all who prayed for us. I know your prayers have had a major impact on how things went. Sarah did not like contractions so her heart rate dropped every time I had one once labor was induced. That combined with when my placenta began to detatch, I was rushed to the c-section. I was calm the whole time and so was Dan. Dan has just been great. He has blown me away with how attentive he has been to Sarah and me. We are blessed to have him.
More later, time to rest. Love you all.
