I'm thankful for that Thursday.




My blogger buddy, Nicole O'Dell does a Thanksgiving Thursday. I think that sounds like a great idea.

1. My mom gave me two angels from her angel collection to put with my family portrait for Adam and Charis. I'm thankful for that.

2. My SIL made sure not to wish me Happy 1st Mother's Day last week because she said she knew it wasn't my first Mother's day. I'm thankful for that.

3. I spent a great week with my family, playing in the pool with my nieces, having all that care for Sarah and me while I had such a bad cold. I'm thankful for that.

4. I made it home Tuesday. I'm thankful for that.

5. Sarah never caught my cold. I'm thankful for that.

6. Dan loves Sarah, spends all the time he can with her, sings Amazing Grace every night while he feeds her and puts her to bed..every night. I'm thankful for that.

7. Dan is structured and disciplines which keeps my structured and disciplined (I'm naterally so not structured or disciplined). I'm thankful for that.

That is only seven things but there are so much more, Jesus, the sunny day, Dan's job, my staying home with Sarah, I could go on. I'm also thankful for the rough spots because they are what makes me appreciate the good stuff.

DIY Day a bracelet and another Frenchh Memo Board

This week, I have two DIY projects. This is a faux pearl bracelet I made last week for a friend. It is a three strand bracelet. I couldn't really say how I did it though. I can say it has taken me a while to get the nack of jewelery making. One thing I have sufficiently gotten the nack of is this French Memo Baord thing. Here is a magnetic one I made for my fridgerator out of left over scraps from the window from last week . For the month of September, all my DIYs will be giveways. My second greatest creation!

I did it, I really did it. I've never done something to at this scale of work. It took me many hours but I did it. I am so proud of this DIY project. My first DIY Day! I would be remiss in mentioning that this little beauty is my best DIY and that handsome man there, well, he just melts my heart and fortifies it all at the same time. Here is the plain old dirty six paned window I have been hauling with me every where since I found it a few years ago at a Habitat for Humanity Restore. I had it done up before but that was a novice's attempt at crafty. I knew when I saw the other crafty DIY projects floating around the blogosphere that I would need to get serious in order to play with the big dogs. Inspiration

So, I am reading this book, $100 Startup by Chris Guillebeau. I'm not planning on starting a business or anything. Its just super inspirational. I like inspirational people. I have this friend, Kathrine who is the best sewing person, sewer or whatever you call it in the whole world. When inspiration strikes, she sews stuff.  I think that is freaking awesome. I have friends who have passions and they just go for it. Love it! My brother, Justin wanted to design toys. He did it. My brother and sister in love, Scott and Laura wanted to start a youth horse ranch. They are doing it. My husband was a sweet little country boy who wanted to go to the Air Force Academy. He did it. See the pattern? I like being inspired. So $100 Startup is a book full of people who find themselves not so much in a career or really intending to make it big but they just start down a path and do what they love.
