Venting and Reading
I want this house to sell I can hardly stand it! We have now had five showings and one more scheduled this evening. There has been interest which the realtors say is good, but dude! I don't want interest, I want an offer! A good one! I'm praying and praying. Ok, I realize the interest is better than no interest and six showings is better than none. It is supposed to help us think positively that this house will sell quick. Being impatient by nature...because well, I'm human, I am already considering that if we have to look at lowering the cost then I rather do a bit of a remodel on the kitchen if its less expensive than lowering the price. I know some of what we could do would be tile the kitchen, change the cabinet doors or even just paint them. The counter tops are good and the cabinets sans the doors are good. Oh, I just don't know. I see now why the home buying and selling process is so stressful. You know it is in the top ten stressors...if not the top five. Ok well, I don't know if thats true, but it feels like it. Aaah! I'm whining again! You know what, I'm going to be ok with that because sharing stresses with family and friends is important. It not only helps elliviate stress, it helps lesson the possibility of stress related illness...like colds...like I already had recently...that laid me out for three days. Geesh, I haven't been that sick in years. Ok, so I'll vent away here.
Reading relaxes me so here are some things I've read lately.
Good quotes I've read lately;
Excitement of Youth
Why don't adults keep this level of excitement about our life and events? Why aren't worships all around the world filled with this pump of awe? Maybe this is why Solomon writes in Ecclesiastes to remember the Creator in the days of our youth - see Him always with excitement and passion of a young person. Come to Him like a child - full of faith and wide - eyed expectation of God doing the impossible.

The leadership role is one of authority, not to be confused with authoritarianism. Authority means you are in control, yet respect the rights and dignity of those you lead. Authoritarianism means you rule with an iron-fist, and do not respect the rights and dignity of those you lead. An authoritarian spirit crushes those it rules over. This may be something of the spirit Paul warned against in Colossians 3:21 when he wrote, "Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged."
Minister Warren Baldwin
Amidst so much responsibility, it can be tempting for mothers and fathers to believe that our children's salvation falls into our realm of obligation. I've discovered that our responsibility is to instruct them in how to approach biblical study and interpretation. It is the Holy Spirit that saves souls, and while this fact does not exonerate parents from all liability, it certainly does lighten the burden.

"...Greek word for 'quest' in Luke 19:7. The words means 'to loose or unloose what was before bound or fastened. To refresh oneself, to lodge or be a guest. It properly refers to travelers loosening their burden or those of their animals when they stayed at a house on a journey.' In effect Zaccheus' hospitality siad to Jesus: 'Come to my house and take a load off. Lay Your burden down and be refreshed. I'd be honeored to have you.' What an awesome thought that at the same time Christ was saying to Zaccheus; 'Let Me come into your house and take your load. Lay your burden down and be refreshed. I'd be honored to have you.'"
