This and That


I have fallen in love. I never thought this would happen to me. Wow and to realize this dream might just be the most stinkin' cool thing in the world. I of all people in the world have fallen in love with a Viking Range.

Speaking of the Bare Foot Contessa's kitchen, right now, kitchen remodeling is what consumes the majority of my day dreams. I love her white cabinets and charcoal granite slab counters. Another detail are the open upper cabinets. We have a house in mind in Newport News and if it happens we get this house, I just might have one or two doorless cabinets. Along with that, I may cooridinate a tile back splash that coordinates with matching bowls. So, to have my dream kitchen I would have to buy new dishes and mixing bowls to display. Ummmh, that new kitchen won't be happening for a while.

Little Miss Wiggles is officially in the teething stage. So far a lot of the symptoms are there but no teeth. I think we are going to need to bunker down for the long hawl. We were thinking of maybe going to Georgia while Dan is in California, but since the last time we were there we had to go to the ER, I don't want that to happen again if her minor ear ache turns into an ear infection, we need to stay close to home. Bummer. Poor baby girl. I was hoping the teething thing would go easy on her but consider that the teething has already started bothering her and I can't even feel the teeth, its gonna be a rough road.

WOW what a stove....we did a kitchen remodel last year and added all stainless appliances, new back splash and granite and I would have loved a stove like that but the size was an issue because of the existing space. Would have had to redo cabinets and that wasn't in the plan...maybe someday!

For some reason you seem to think I am not a christian....sorry you are wrong about that. I just choose not to use my beliefs or religion everyday in my blog.

The other thing that maybe you didn't understand about my post was as a fellow blogger and mother I was trying to get input on how others feel about this type of blogger? Gossip is when you are talking about someone...since I never used her name I was not talking about her....I could have been talking about "ANY" blogger...although for many who read alot of blogs...they knew exactly who I was talking about. I am a caring and honest person and I just don't like to see the blogging community USED by a blogger for her own finicial gain.
By the way....the reason she keeps peole hanging on is so she can have them come back time and time again and she makes more money each time they click back to see if she has told her BIG NEWS yet!!!

DIY Day a bracelet and another Frenchh Memo Board

This week, I have two DIY projects. This is a faux pearl bracelet I made last week for a friend. It is a three strand bracelet. I couldn't really say how I did it though. I can say it has taken me a while to get the nack of jewelery making. One thing I have sufficiently gotten the nack of is this French Memo Baord thing. Here is a magnetic one I made for my fridgerator out of left over scraps from the window from last week . For the month of September, all my DIYs will be giveways. My second greatest creation!

I did it, I really did it. I've never done something to at this scale of work. It took me many hours but I did it. I am so proud of this DIY project. My first DIY Day! I would be remiss in mentioning that this little beauty is my best DIY and that handsome man there, well, he just melts my heart and fortifies it all at the same time. Here is the plain old dirty six paned window I have been hauling with me every where since I found it a few years ago at a Habitat for Humanity Restore. I had it done up before but that was a novice's attempt at crafty. I knew when I saw the other crafty DIY projects floating around the blogosphere that I would need to get serious in order to play with the big dogs. Inspiration

So, I am reading this book, $100 Startup by Chris Guillebeau. I'm not planning on starting a business or anything. Its just super inspirational. I like inspirational people. I have this friend, Kathrine who is the best sewing person, sewer or whatever you call it in the whole world. When inspiration strikes, she sews stuff.  I think that is freaking awesome. I have friends who have passions and they just go for it. Love it! My brother, Justin wanted to design toys. He did it. My brother and sister in love, Scott and Laura wanted to start a youth horse ranch. They are doing it. My husband was a sweet little country boy who wanted to go to the Air Force Academy. He did it. See the pattern? I like being inspired. So $100 Startup is a book full of people who find themselves not so much in a career or really intending to make it big but they just start down a path and do what they love.
