Not about me Monday: Shout out to Hubby and ???? for you.


Not about me Monday is about my Hubby. Dont' worry, still questions for you to answer at the end (I look forward to your answers every week to the random questions.)
I can't believe what an amazing hubby I have. Really, he rocks. You see, having recently started my own business I figured I'd just plow ahead and thought, I don't know, that Hubby would just give me buckets of encouragment. Well, boy was I way off. Part of my man's job is training modules to better his ability in management and project planning and such. Can you believe he has been applying all of it to my new business, handmade jewelry, IM139. Not only that he has sat down with me several times and helped me develop my business plan, financial budgeting plan, time management plan, and so much more. Who knew? Apparently there is this whole side to my husband that I didn't know. He loves this kind of stuff. Ok, I did know but I didn't at the same time. Does that make sense. Well, I knew he had seriously thought about starting his own business a while back, like two years ago. He did all of this research about it, how to start a business, field research and so on and so forth. Well, when I told him I wanted to start a jewelry business, I guess I relit that blaze in him 'cause I find that I have a full fledged business partner in him. He is already talking shows, budgets, bank accounts, and diversifying.

Yes diversifying. I love jewelry, but there is more that I can do and would love to do. Women can never have enough jewelry but there are other things that we need lots of like through pillows, very necassary those throw pillows, candles also can't have enough of those. So you can imagine I've got quite a lot happening around here. This is exciting.

It isn't about me though, not today. Lots of pictures to come though of lots of stuff. Just found the battery charger to the camera. Yeah!

If I could spend the day with a Character from a book, I would spend the day with Jesus. I would just love to sit at his feet and listen to him all day long.

CandyandLadybugs said it all perfectly for my first choice. If, however, you meant fiction, I would choose Jo from Little Women. That has long been my favorite character in my favorite book.

DIY Day a bracelet and another Frenchh Memo Board

This week, I have two DIY projects. This is a faux pearl bracelet I made last week for a friend. It is a three strand bracelet. I couldn't really say how I did it though. I can say it has taken me a while to get the nack of jewelery making. One thing I have sufficiently gotten the nack of is this French Memo Baord thing. Here is a magnetic one I made for my fridgerator out of left over scraps from the window from last week . For the month of September, all my DIYs will be giveways. My second greatest creation!

I did it, I really did it. I've never done something to at this scale of work. It took me many hours but I did it. I am so proud of this DIY project. My first DIY Day! I would be remiss in mentioning that this little beauty is my best DIY and that handsome man there, well, he just melts my heart and fortifies it all at the same time. Here is the plain old dirty six paned window I have been hauling with me every where since I found it a few years ago at a Habitat for Humanity Restore. I had it done up before but that was a novice's attempt at crafty. I knew when I saw the other crafty DIY projects floating around the blogosphere that I would need to get serious in order to play with the big dogs. Inspiration

So, I am reading this book, $100 Startup by Chris Guillebeau. I'm not planning on starting a business or anything. Its just super inspirational. I like inspirational people. I have this friend, Kathrine who is the best sewing person, sewer or whatever you call it in the whole world. When inspiration strikes, she sews stuff.  I think that is freaking awesome. I have friends who have passions and they just go for it. Love it! My brother, Justin wanted to design toys. He did it. My brother and sister in love, Scott and Laura wanted to start a youth horse ranch. They are doing it. My husband was a sweet little country boy who wanted to go to the Air Force Academy. He did it. See the pattern? I like being inspired. So $100 Startup is a book full of people who find themselves not so much in a career or really intending to make it big but they just start down a path and do what they love.
