Why vote?

I voted today. There was no line. When there was the presidential election, there was a line...a long line. The thought occures to me, no man stands alone. Obama is only one man. He is as strong as the government behind him. Regardless of whether you support him or not, who you vote for today will decide whether the government behind him is for him or against him. So my thought is we shall see based on the line at the polls today whether others voted for Obama or against based on reasons other than what he stands for. So if you want Obama to be strong or not, then vote today and influence that. If you don't then your vote last year was a waist of your time.

Hello...I'm getting ready to go and vote now. I've never missed an election and although I'm not happy about voting this year...I will vote. Thanks for the reminder.

Melissa, yeah, I know not everyone has a vote today so just know that I would be only writing about those who are today. Also know you will eventually have a vote, then think of this post. :)

DIY Day a bracelet and another Frenchh Memo Board

This week, I have two DIY projects. This is a faux pearl bracelet I made last week for a friend. It is a three strand bracelet. I couldn't really say how I did it though. I can say it has taken me a while to get the nack of jewelery making. One thing I have sufficiently gotten the nack of is this French Memo Baord thing. Here is a magnetic one I made for my fridgerator out of left over scraps from the window from last week . For the month of September, all my DIYs will be giveways. My second greatest creation!

I did it, I really did it. I've never done something to at this scale of work. It took me many hours but I did it. I am so proud of this DIY project. My first DIY Day! I would be remiss in mentioning that this little beauty is my best DIY and that handsome man there, well, he just melts my heart and fortifies it all at the same time. Here is the plain old dirty six paned window I have been hauling with me every where since I found it a few years ago at a Habitat for Humanity Restore. I had it done up before but that was a novice's attempt at crafty. I knew when I saw the other crafty DIY projects floating around the blogosphere that I would need to get serious in order to play with the big dogs. Inspiration

So, I am reading this book, $100 Startup by Chris Guillebeau. I'm not planning on starting a business or anything. Its just super inspirational. I like inspirational people. I have this friend, Kathrine who is the best sewing person, sewer or whatever you call it in the whole world. When inspiration strikes, she sews stuff.  I think that is freaking awesome. I have friends who have passions and they just go for it. Love it! My brother, Justin wanted to design toys. He did it. My brother and sister in love, Scott and Laura wanted to start a youth horse ranch. They are doing it. My husband was a sweet little country boy who wanted to go to the Air Force Academy. He did it. See the pattern? I like being inspired. So $100 Startup is a book full of people who find themselves not so much in a career or really intending to make it big but they just start down a path and do what they love.
