My Will, God's Will, Prayer

I have been thinking this week about all I want for my daughter; to be intelligent, compassionate, great with people, a leader what not. I prayed yesterday about somethings I want her to be in the future; succesful at being able to put anyone at ease from plumbers to politicians, world leaders to children. As I wrote out my list, I felt God prodding me to see that He has His own will for this beautiful little person and it is already in action, has been in action since before the beginning of time. I realized that being her mom means being God's vessel for His will (which is way better than my will I would like to add) in her life. So I give up my will, my list, ambitions and dreams for this beautiful little girl and take up His.

Reading through it, I am refreshed for the task, my focus is realigned (which I need often since I rabbit trail not just in coversation but in life as well). I pray it is as helpful and uplifting for you and your children as it has been for me and prayerfully will be for my beautiful baby girl as well.

Good things come from parents who give up their will for the good of their childre, who train them, and who pray over them. That is good parenting!

DIY Day a bracelet and another Frenchh Memo Board

This week, I have two DIY projects. This is a faux pearl bracelet I made last week for a friend. It is a three strand bracelet. I couldn't really say how I did it though. I can say it has taken me a while to get the nack of jewelery making. One thing I have sufficiently gotten the nack of is this French Memo Baord thing. Here is a magnetic one I made for my fridgerator out of left over scraps from the window from last week . For the month of September, all my DIYs will be giveways. My second greatest creation!

I did it, I really did it. I've never done something to at this scale of work. It took me many hours but I did it. I am so proud of this DIY project. My first DIY Day! I would be remiss in mentioning that this little beauty is my best DIY and that handsome man there, well, he just melts my heart and fortifies it all at the same time. Here is the plain old dirty six paned window I have been hauling with me every where since I found it a few years ago at a Habitat for Humanity Restore. I had it done up before but that was a novice's attempt at crafty. I knew when I saw the other crafty DIY projects floating around the blogosphere that I would need to get serious in order to play with the big dogs. Inspiration

So, I am reading this book, $100 Startup by Chris Guillebeau. I'm not planning on starting a business or anything. Its just super inspirational. I like inspirational people. I have this friend, Kathrine who is the best sewing person, sewer or whatever you call it in the whole world. When inspiration strikes, she sews stuff.  I think that is freaking awesome. I have friends who have passions and they just go for it. Love it! My brother, Justin wanted to design toys. He did it. My brother and sister in love, Scott and Laura wanted to start a youth horse ranch. They are doing it. My husband was a sweet little country boy who wanted to go to the Air Force Academy. He did it. See the pattern? I like being inspired. So $100 Startup is a book full of people who find themselves not so much in a career or really intending to make it big but they just start down a path and do what they love.
