To have a niche or not have a niche.

There are a lot of blogs out there, and most have their niche. Do I have a niche? Well, when I get a misquitoe but I guess. Ok, that wasn't funny.

Seriously though, I've wondered often if I should. I've done this now long enough to accumulate over 500 posts. I blog about family, Jesus, my house and well most anything. I've had guess bloggers write about Jesus, parenting, writing. I've commented on stuff in the news, book reviews and my cat.

I'm all over the place people! I love the bloggers who write for the love of writing, bloggers who share their junk finds and DIYs. There are the blogs that inspire me and encourage my relationship with Jesus, my husband and give tips on being a better parent.

Truth is my interests are divers, I live spherically and every attempt I've made at a niche blog last about a week. I'm sure all my dedicated blogger buddies remember how September was going to be a big month or how Mondays was a Not about me Monday then it was Question Monday and then there was the guest blogger idea. I'm all over the place as it seems. As my Hubby would say, I've never folded a towel the same way twice.

So, my blog is all the things I care the most about; Jesus, my family, helping other,writing, my house, and jewelry. Umh, yeah that about somes it up.

Katie, Just sounds like you have big niche that covers a lot of topics. That makes for an interesting blog, too.

I am usually all over the place, too. lots of interests and maybe a little ADD. But lately...it's about my feelings in prayer and poetry because my 12 yr. old went to Heaven 8 weeks, 4 days ago. And that has me in another place altogether.
If I had known you and your blog, I would have asked some questions!

DIY Day a bracelet and another Frenchh Memo Board

This week, I have two DIY projects. This is a faux pearl bracelet I made last week for a friend. It is a three strand bracelet. I couldn't really say how I did it though. I can say it has taken me a while to get the nack of jewelery making. One thing I have sufficiently gotten the nack of is this French Memo Baord thing. Here is a magnetic one I made for my fridgerator out of left over scraps from the window from last week . For the month of September, all my DIYs will be giveways. My second greatest creation!

I did it, I really did it. I've never done something to at this scale of work. It took me many hours but I did it. I am so proud of this DIY project. My first DIY Day! I would be remiss in mentioning that this little beauty is my best DIY and that handsome man there, well, he just melts my heart and fortifies it all at the same time. Here is the plain old dirty six paned window I have been hauling with me every where since I found it a few years ago at a Habitat for Humanity Restore. I had it done up before but that was a novice's attempt at crafty. I knew when I saw the other crafty DIY projects floating around the blogosphere that I would need to get serious in order to play with the big dogs. Inspiration

So, I am reading this book, $100 Startup by Chris Guillebeau. I'm not planning on starting a business or anything. Its just super inspirational. I like inspirational people. I have this friend, Kathrine who is the best sewing person, sewer or whatever you call it in the whole world. When inspiration strikes, she sews stuff.  I think that is freaking awesome. I have friends who have passions and they just go for it. Love it! My brother, Justin wanted to design toys. He did it. My brother and sister in love, Scott and Laura wanted to start a youth horse ranch. They are doing it. My husband was a sweet little country boy who wanted to go to the Air Force Academy. He did it. See the pattern? I like being inspired. So $100 Startup is a book full of people who find themselves not so much in a career or really intending to make it big but they just start down a path and do what they love.
