I was caught in a rip tide but I'm back now!

Ok, maybe not literally, but it sure felt like it at times. What a whirl wind trip I just had! Miss Wiggles and I spent this last week in Arizona with my family. Here is the lowdown on our trip.

Our layover was in DC. Upon arrival I promptly called Hubby sobbing wanting him to make the four hour drive and come get me. I even called my mom and told her I wasn't comming. All were supportive of my choice however a little over an hour delay of the next flight gave me the chance to regroup and regain my sanity for the four hour flight cross country with my insanely wiggley Miss Wiggles who at 13 months is not a lap sleeper. Upon getting into the air heading towards Arizona, I pinned Miss Wiggles to me until after much fuss, fell asleep for the next four hours. An open seat next to me meant two hours of sleeping in my lap and two hours sleeping next to me on the seat. Good times, good times.

Miss Wiggles proceded to wake up at exactly 5:30 every morning for the whole vacation. Awesome.

The day I arrived was my mom's...umh, 39th Birthday so that was a great gift for her. I could have gone for a stiff drink. I was super thankful for a bed.

On Tuesday, I had a little Birthday party for three of my nieces. It wasn't really their Birthday, but I figured they were there, I was there, and wouldn't be there on their Birthdays so I gave them a cookie cake and even had their names put on it. We made jewelry. It was super cool that they all liked making jewelry as well so a good time was had by all. I made a bracelet for my mom and came away with a necklace, two bracelets and a book mark. I'm so loved.

Seriously I am! It should be criminal. I spent time with my mom and sister, M, watching lots of What Not to Wears on my mom's DVR (cried through the one with the new mom who once had style but has since switched to sweats 24/7. Needless to say, it hit a soft spot for me.) I hung out in my SIL's, L, backyard and found Miss Wiggles loves loves loves going down the slide. I enjoyed my time with my SIL, J. She is always quite fashionable and when I'm with her, I always feel better. My brother, B, took me out on a lunch date my last day there. I was super excited for that. I was practically giddy with excitement. He and I are a lot alike. We even look almost like twins, its uncanny. I did miss seeing a brother and SIL as they were there the week before I got there. I haven't seen them in years and years and was sad to have missed them.

On Thursday night we came together and celebrated Mom's Birthday. It was such a great time. I loved seeing my family together. There was lots of good discussion and good food.

On Saturday night and Sunday I spent time with a good friend I've known since highschool. Though we may circumstantially be in different places in our lives, we are going through a lot of the same things and it was good to talk things out with her. I also enjoyed seeing her church and all the people she is always talking about.

Sunday night I was able to spend time with another sister, R, and niece, B. I went over to their house to see how the brother and SIL I missed seeing had helped her decorate her new house. It looked awesome!

Miss Wiggles absolutely loved her nieces and nephews. Her little self lit right up when she was with them so that was great seeing them all together.

The last day, Miss Wiggles finally took to her Grammy and went to her willingly. ~big sigh~ I guess thats how it goes.

There were lots of other things that went on. I felt quite caught up in it all. I really really missed being able to see my other friends there. I have so many wonderful people in Arizona and many of them haven't seen Miss Wiggles. Next time, I am purposefully planning a time with them before I even get there. Doing it after I get there means it won't get done.

Oh yeah, and my mom and dad are renewing their vows next year so they are planning to have a wedding. That should be super awesome. I know she didn't really get to plan a nice wedding the first time so this will be a great way to celebrate their 25 years.

The plane ride home went smoothly. A nice Swedish couple sat next to me and we had a good conversation and they even took Miss Wiggles for me so I could go to the bathroom alone. Phew.

One last thing. I'm so not kidding on this one. There was another northern European fellow sitting across the isle from me on my last leg of the flight home and I actually saw him take his wedding ring off and put it in his bag. He was seriously flirting with the young woman behind him who was also from Northern Europe. Fortunately she was with family and so nothing came of that. I stayed out of it though but let it not go without saying I was seriously tempted to say within her ear shot some random reference to him having been married to warn her. I'm not that smooth or gutsy, so it didn't happen.

My bag never made it so I am waiting today to get it.

Whew! I know there is more than that but that is all I have. It was a crazy but awesome week.

I slept in the same room as Miss Wiggles the whole time so last night with no monitor (its in my suitcase) I slept terribly. I had a migraine, restless legs and my friend from Arizona called at 2am. I eventually moved into the guest bedroom so I could keep the door open and hear my baby girl in case she fussed and so Hubby could get some sleep. About 3:30am as I was finally about to fall asleep again when Miss Wiggles started coughing and then fussing. She eventually fell back asleep as did I eventually...about thirty minutes before Hubby came in with my morning cup of coffee. Awesome.

What really is awesome and not at all sarcastically so, what Hubby did while I was gone. All the bushes have been trimmed, flower beds given new mulch (found we have a rose bush), and he painted all the eggshell colored trim in the hallways and Miss Wiggles' room white as well as all the doors and painted the hallway blue and Miss Wiggles' room white. He also rearranged her room the way I wanted it. He also cleaned the house, did all the laundry, ironing and put fresh sheets on the bed. My husband is hands down the most amazing man on the face of the earth! I am so blessed.
