So, I hear its Women's Day today.
So today is Women's Day. I never knew that there was a Women's Day. Seems like there is a day or a month for every one (unless your a white guy who isn't a dad, you just get your Birthday, sorry guys). No complaining here though, I'll celebrate just about anything.
Speaking of celebrating and Birthdays, it seems to me like spring our Birthday Party season. Famous people get their awards season with Oscars, Razzies, Tonys, and what not. We have bunches of great kids. So to start us off, we had Miss Wiggles Birthday. There would have been A's Birthday in Richmond, but we moved at that time. Then their was Miss E's, Cloggsy's daughter. You know her from the English Tea blog on my left side bar. Then there is all my nieces and now a nephew (my other nephew isn't until August). I've got my big sis and my mom, my Dad right after new years. Coming up is our little friend B's birthday. Last weekend, our frien N turned two.
So basically you get the point. I'm going to admit something. My New Years Resolution has been to remember everyones Birthday in my family. I've never been good at that. So far I haven't failed at the very least, remembering to call. Next year we will work on actually sending something. Its pathetic seriously, but for me just remembering is a big feat. For the record, my own Birthday gets skipped over by some of my sibs while others, without fail call and sing me Happy Birthday. My brother Scott called and left a Happy Birthday song message on my cell. I kept it and listened to it for like three months. I loved it.
And thats the rub. Who doesn't like to be remembered? We all do. Some are so afraid of being forgotten or rejected that they will do it first to save their own feelings. That kind of hurt comes from somewhere, so my goal in my New Years resolution is really to not perpetuate the hurt.
Who doesn't deserve a little celebration of their own? I'm a fan of Happy Unbirthdays. Go Mad Hater!
So, anyway, thanks for reading my ramble.
Do you have anyone in particular or anything for that matter you love to celebrate?
