I Am a Free Woman Part 3: Co-Eternal Life

Part 1: Co-Crucifixion
Part 2: Co-Resurrection

For those coming over from Its So Very Cheri's blog hop, consider this a DIY Bible Study as in it isn't one I got from someone else, but did it myself. What can I say, I'm excited about Cheri's big surprise for Wed. and I wanted to help garner peeps to head over and check it out seein' as she is my newest bloggy buddy and all. Well, enjoy and make sure to check out the first two parts. Just click on the Part 1 and Part 2 above this paragraph.
I recall a sermon I heard a while back by Pastor Thurman Hayes. He compared us as Christ followers to being ambassadors. I am so loving this description. From the moment we die to self and sin and are resurrected the new man (or woman) in Christ we are no longer citizens of this world but officially citizens of Heaven. As we move around this earth we are ambassadors representing our King and our home country.

I will take this a step further and talk about the diplomatic immunity we have as ambassadors no longer citizens of this world. Satan directs the directionless towards the direction the he himself takes. Satan wants to be God so every thing he does mimics God. Revelation speaks of the dragon, the beast and the false prophet, Satan's very own trinity. Scripture is heaped full of other examples. So as citizens of this world we were pressured to conform to impossible ideals. We are never skinny enough, happy enough, content enough, rich enough, beautiful enough, successful enough, accepted enough, popular enough. I as a believer in Jesus Christ am under a whole new set of truths, The Truth. I am a creation made by God. I am accepted by Him. Who I am, what I am, what I have, where I am at, what I am doing, who I am seeing where I have been and where I am going is all in the hands of God. I need not fret worry, bother with, grow anxious about anything. I have diplomatic immunity from spending my life trying to live my life up to impossible ideals. How FREAKING AWESOME is that!

Now if we died with Christ, we believe we will also live with Him for we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, He cannot die again, death no longer has mastery over Him. The death He died, He died to sin once and for all, but the life He lives He lives for God. Romans 6:8-10

Eternal life is the life which Jesus Christ exhibited on the human level. And it is the same life, not simply a copy of it, which is evident in our mortal flesh when we are born again. Eternal life is not a gift from God; eternal life is THE gift from God. Even the weakest saint can experience the power of the deity of the Son of God when he is willing to let go.

Oswald Chambers My Utmost for His Highest

Now if we are children, we are heirs - heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ if indeed we share in His sufferings in order that we may also share in His glory. Romans 8:17

Vine's Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words tells us that the Greek word for eternal is aionios and the word proskairos means "for a season." Our time here on earth is for a season but our citizenship, our inheritance as adopted brothers and sisters of Christ Jesus is eternal.

It is incredible to me to know that while I go about my days here on earth I am already in eternity with Jesus. I have died to sin. Jesus took the burden upon Himself and given me eternity. When He was resurrected from the dead and He left that sin there on that cross and walked away. I walked away with Him.

I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself up for me. Galatians 2:20

Katie, thank you for stopping by my blog! I love doing Multitude Monday and I think you'd really enjoy it too. Although I think it's going to take me about 5 years if I only post 5 things every week... I better ramp it up. :)
That is a great devotional. I love the analogy that we are already citizens in heaven. I have been running like crazy all day today and I need to get up early and get my Sunday Devotional done, so I better scoot to bed since it's already past 12:30.
Thanks so much for adding the blog hop. We are working on more vendors. It is going to be exciting.
