A little jewelry DIY!

I've been mad at work trying to do, well, just about everything. I've made more jewelry. My mom a while back gave me a five strand necklace full of beautiful faux bone beads I've completely taken apart and reworked. I also tried to draw a diagram of the Holy Temple from Exodus. It looks more like a fridge. I need to stay away from the markers.

At least I seem to be better with jewelry. So enough with the words and on with the show.

This five strand is the one my mom gave me. Those blue faux bone beads were coupled with some blue heart shaped foiled glass beads. I reworked it with iris blue fresh water pearls, an oil in water glass rectangular beads and peach glass beads.




This ring I've had for years. Then I did a little remodel with silver wire and pearls. You like?









So what does a jewelry artist do with toggles that won't tog? Earrings of course! Silver with Swarovski crystal toggles repurposed (I learned that word yesterday on Earth Day.)


I made tons of earrings. I love those cobalt blue glass ones.
Best thing about making jewelry is field testing. I gotta make sure its good enough for all of you. ;) I love jewelry making. Luv wearing it 2!

WOAH, I haven't seen you for a few weeks and Sarah's hair has grown THAT much? WOW. Full on toddler...she'll be running on the beach with Emma in no time!

This week, I have two DIY projects. This is a faux pearl bracelet I made last week for a friend. It is a three strand bracelet. I couldn't really say how I did it though. My second greatest creation!

I did it, I really did it. I've never done something to at this scale of work. It took me many hours but I did it. I am so proud of this DIY project. My first DIY Day! I would be remiss in mentioning that this little beauty is my best DIY and that handsome man there, well, he just melts my heart and fortifies it all at the same time. Here is the plain old dirty six paned window I have been hauling with me every where since I found it a few years ago at a Habitat for Humanity Restore. I had it done up before but that was a novice's attempt at crafty. I knew when I saw the other crafty DIY projects floating around the blogosphere that I would need to get serious in order to play with the big dogs. Inspiration

So, I am reading this book, $100 Startup by Chris Guillebeau. I'm not planning on starting a business or anything. Its just super inspirational. I like inspirational people. I have this friend, Kathrine who is the best sewing person, sewer or whatever you call it in the whole world. When inspiration strikes, she sews stuff.  I think that is freaking awesome. I have friends who have passions and they just go for it. Love it! My brother, Justin wanted to design toys. He did it. My brother and sister in love, Scott and Laura wanted to start a youth horse ranch. They are doing it. My husband was a sweet little country boy who wanted to go to the Air Force Academy. He did it. See the pattern? I like being inspired. So $100 Startup is a book full of people who find themselves not so much in a career or really intending to make it big but they just start down a path and do what they love.
