Some awesome ways to save and inspiration to get you there!
Today I went to MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) and had myself a grand ole time. After being down and out for the last week and a half, it was super duper nice to get out and let me tell you, my MOPS moms are all awesome!
This morning we had a guest speaker, Sarah, who shared with us some great tips and sites to help us become pro Couponers (her word which we officially decided today is a word so poo on spell check ;). You can find the coupon and money saver links to the left if you are interested which I highly recommend you do.
I've tried being a Couponer but was never successful. Maybe in my youth I never took it that seriously, I had no purpose in it. Well, now as we save up to for a down payment for a house, wait for our current house to sell and live in a rental, I am motivated. That and college tuition scares me and I know in 18 years I want to be ready for those bills. Oh, and retirement. Gotta save for retirement. So you see, there are a lot of good reasons to save. I might just share a bit about my own journey towards being a savvy Couponer. We'll see right? :)
Part of this mornings events was for us to do a table to table (I won't go into how it works) thing where we give all our tips on how to save money in areas; groceries, clothing, vacations, entertainment, and home expenses.
Well, I jumped all over the home expenses like a crack addict find a dealer. Yeah, I was a little nuts. It happens. Anyway, most of you know about all those awesome blogs out there, DIY blogs galore. We have link parties almost every day, there is not end to it! Well, that is what I shared, all the blogs out there that talk about saving money by doing decorating on the cheap. As far as I am concerned a home is never finally decorated because my nesting button is permanently stuck on play. Those vignettes I've got all over the house; my mantel, book shelf tops, dining room table etc. are always being refreshed. It could get expensive accept with the magic of spray paint, old is now new and I'm one happy momma!

One great thing I took away from this morning (accept that these gals continue to be awesome) is that I now know where all the thrift and consignment stores. The fact I've gone five months without knowing that or seeking out that bit of info is like, a serious serious offense. Lock me up and throw away the key but make sure you leave my lap top with me!
