A Makeover!

Well here you go! Late Wednesday night, my blog informed me that my background would disapear on Friday. So, for the last four days I've been working on finding a new look for my blog. I really liked my green stripe but change happens and I've really liked the fresh look of blogs with white backgrounds and just fancy headers. There are a few things I want to change but for now I'm thinking this is just fine. As a side note Hubby doesn't think the header goes with my blog title. I'll be working on getting that straight as well. We will see.

I've also changed my blog title if you haven't noticed. I was thinking as I went about my bloggey makeover how I continue searching for tulips when I have perfectly beautiful hyacinth right here (say what? Its all explained underneath the header). I take my humbled self to the foot of the cross, not perfect but humbled. I thought it applicable or apra poe but I'm not sure I wrote that right.

On a different note, my house is old. What to do with cracks that just won't go away? Show them off of course! My entry way has this lovely crack. I saw somewhere out there in blog land the idea to go ahead and implement these insightly...umh things into the decor so wa la. I snagged these little wall stickers from the left overs from Miss Wiggle's room. Seriously, its so cute. Yes, I am complimenting myself.

DIY Day a bracelet and another Frenchh Memo Board

This week, I have two DIY projects. This is a faux pearl bracelet I made last week for a friend. It is a three strand bracelet. I couldn't really say how I did it though. I can say it has taken me a while to get the nack of jewelery making. One thing I have sufficiently gotten the nack of is this French Memo Baord thing. Here is a magnetic one I made for my fridgerator out of left over scraps from the window from last week . For the month of September, all my DIYs will be giveways. Atleast one will be...well, a guest DIY and a giveway by my SIL over at Read Be Tween the Lines. My second greatest creation!

I did it, I really did it. I've never done something to at this scale of work. It took me many hours but I did it. I am so proud of this DIY project. My first DIY Day! I would be remiss in mentioning that this little beauty is my best DIY and that handsome man there, well, he just melts my heart and fortifies it all at the same time. Here is the plain old dirty six paned window I have been hauling with me every where since I found it a few years ago at a Habitat for Humanity Restore. I had it done up before but that was a novice's attempt at crafty. I knew when I saw the other crafty DIY projects floating around the blogosphere that I would need to get serious in order to play with the big dogs. Inspiration

So, I am reading this book, $100 Startup by Chris Guillebeau. I'm not planning on starting a business or anything. Its just super inspirational. I like inspirational people. I have this friend, Kathrine who is the best sewing person, sewer or whatever you call it in the whole world. When inspiration strikes, she sews stuff.  I think that is freaking awesome. I have friends who have passions and they just go for it. Love it! My brother, Justin wanted to design toys. He did it. My brother and sister in love, Scott and Laura wanted to start a youth horse ranch. They are doing it. My husband was a sweet little country boy who wanted to go to the Air Force Academy. He did it. See the pattern? I like being inspired. So $100 Startup is a book full of people who find themselves not so much in a career or really intending to make it big but they just start down a path and do what they love.
