An About Face

This weekend has come with some reality checks. While it is fun to spray paint everything into newness like, little plastic tables, flower pots, old windows, or what ever, there are other painting projects that were getting out of hand.
There is the big paneled wall that we wanted to paint white, the rest of the dingy trim, Mr. Man's room, the guest bedroom.
A few things came crashing in on us, primarily, time and money. We are diligently saving for a home of our own...as soon as the last one sells...as soon as the lease on this rental we live in is up. Then there is all that actually needs to get done before July.
So, to make a long story short...which wasn't an actually long story come to think of it, we returned a couple cans of paint. We won't be painting the office or the paneled wall or the guest bedroom or maybe even Mr. Man's room
I want new patio furniture but maybe we should wait until we have our own patio.
I want a pretty guest bedroom. Maybe that can wait until our own home.
Sunday school this morning we talked about being so comfortable where we are at that we no longer crave after our Eternal Home because in essence we have it so good here it is like Heaven on earth as our teacher put it. We have spent so much time nesting in our temporary home, we have been using up funds and time that should be invested in the process of getting to our more permanent home.
So while I will continue all the fun spray painting flower pots or puttering around in my vegetable garden, there will be no drastic house stuff. It is a hard pill to swallow but maybe, just maybe this time next year I will be posting all the fun we will be having in our own home. We will see.

I wanted to paint the walls of our house too. Especially the wall on that my TV is on in our bedroom. I hate staring at a matte white wall on the other side of my TV. I just don't understand why they would paint the walls a matte paint. It looks dirty when it is clean and it is impossible to clean when it does get dirty! GRRR!!!!

Here's to our future permanent houses, here on earth and in heaven. :)
