My Jesus Encounter

I woke early this morning despite it being a Saturday. I curled up on the couch for some time with my Abba (Hebrew for Daddy, i.e. God). I read in Jesus, 90 Days With the One and Only about Jesus going to teach in the synagogues or temples and healing all along the way. He did so because He could and how great is that that nothing could and can stop Jesus from doing what ever He wants because what He wants is consistent with who He is. He loves us and He loves His Father. Nothing can stop Him from acting on that. He also did not let the healing and the favor of the people distract Him from teaching and spreading the Good News of coming salvation and grace. This reminded me that as I have prayed specifically for this job I now have, working with people who do not know or believe in Jesus Christ, I can easily get distracted by job success and favor from my co-workers or the opposite of both. I desire very much for them to see that I accept them just the way they are where they are...

Quick update (from work shhhh ;)

After posting the beautiful winter scene it snowed here at my house so soon I will have snow pictures of my own to share with you. Right now the camera is charging and I am insanely busy with my new job. I am enjoying myself learning my new responsibilities. I have booked a lot of appointments ( a lot to me though maybe not a lot to them). Dan has had quite the crazy schedule with one of his employees having collected his paycheck, leaving and didn't come back, didn't return phone calls or messages. Finally, Dan sent the police to his house (this wasn't an expected course of action for this particular employ). The police told him he needed to call Dan. When he did, Dan said he seemed so "whatever" about it. Poor Dan was kind of speechless. I just can't imagine. We had people like that at the preschool I worked for years ago. They just don't understand what kind of ramifications they put on other people because of their lack of responsibility and ...

Good things in life

As the sun set this evening, I was quite taken with the beauty of a world cast in hues of blue (my favorite color). I feel quite cozy. My mom made me a beautiful quilt the size of a throw blanket. It too is many shades of blue that together have a nice bluish grey look, just like the sky. I spent the day with a very good friend. I love having one on one time with friends and all the good conversation that ensues. I think one on one time with friends is one of those things I like most. Groups are awesome too (especially when we gather for the purpose of good conversation, support and accountability like Bible Study or Sunday School) but that one on one is priceless. I love getting to know other people and share our ideas about many different topics. So many times my own opinions on stuff has been challenged and changed. Many times I feel affirmed simply by seeing another put at ease and made to feel comfortable and accepted. Friends are just the coolest. I would love to know wh...
So, about the job thing. I heard back from the church I was interviewing with for a admin. assist. position. They said they went with the other candidate since she has already worked in a church. I did however get a job offer today to be a hiring manager for a new area of an insurance company. Once I'm more familiar with it, I can share more, but obviously I am unfamiliar with the world of insurance and unions. I am going to accept the job and am excited and freaked out at the same time. I haven't ever had such a serious job or well, a full time job, lets admit it people I'm learning to swim here. The cool thing about this all is that I really prayed about these to positions last Friday. I felt for the first time like I was talking to God as His daughter and Him as my Father. I can't completely describe it but it was so awesome to have that new kind of intimacy with God. I have really been growing in understanding that I am a daughter of THE God, the Creator, a...

A good start to a year

Things have been going very well around our home these days. I just finished painting the kitchen and it looks awesome. One wall is a brown with a red tint to it. The other three are cream color on top and a very dark green on bottom. The edge work turned out awesome. I worked so hard on it. I bought drapes for the windows and now it is complete. Right now we have some friends over, E and M. M is on his leave from over seas. Dan is so excited they have been talking talking talking nonstop since they got together. We went looking at some really cool old style homes yesterday and then when and looked at some antique stores. I saw an antique saphire diamond ring designed by a third generation Lendon jeweler that I fell in love with. There was another I really liked and could see actually having one similar to it but the first one was so unique in it's setting it was awesome. Of course they are still safe in their little display case. They were really pricey. I am trying t...
