A Great Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving was a lot of fun. Dan and I went to his Nanny and Papa's house with all his aunts, uncles, cousins and such. I love Nanny's stuffing. Its the first I've ever had I liked. Dan's cousin's girl friend had a baby and he is only about two weeks old. I fed him, changed his diaper and then he spit up so I changed his outfit. I however had to settle with a wet wash cloth so atleast I wouldn't stink. He was just too cute. The family then had a baby shower for us and I got a lot of very cute things. Dan's cousin, Dustin and his wife Jordan gave us three garbage bags full of baby clothes and his cousin Rodney and his wife Elisha gave us their pack and play. So we really did good. Dan's mom had bought a bassinet and then took all the fabric off and redid it in pink gingham, bright green and a pink glittery flirefly fabric. I will have pictures later of this because it is absolutely amazing to me what she did and with out a pattern. Sh...

My Gratitudes

I know I just posted yesterday and I hope you will read it. I just have to post again because my heart is so full and I have to share. I have so many things to be grateful for, thankful for and I give all the praise to God. 1. My friends Erin and Manny had their first ultra sound yesterday and had a strong heart beat! I was so excited I cried... right their in the dairy section at Wal-Mart. I have no shame. :) 2. My brother, Justin will graduate college in May! I'm so proud I could dance. 3. My friend, Amanda is getting married in December! 4. My friend Becky is eight months pregnant with her second! 5. My friend Melinda I have prayed for for years since I've always known she would make the best wife God could possibly make and she just called to tell me she believes she has found the one! 6. My brother Brandon has gone back to school! That is something I greatly admire since he is doing it with a full time job, a wife and two children. I'm in awe. *I'm also in aw...

2 Part Post

First I want to share a Greek word with you, eperchomai. This Greek word I obtained in the Beth Moore study, Breaking Free. This Greek word means to; come upon; to arrive, invade...resting upon and operating in a person. Verse; Romans 8:9 "You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. (NIV) As I am tempted by a great many things in my daily life whether it be to indulge in a pleasure like right now is sugary foods or to think myself more important than others, I can be assured Jesus Christ has been tempted as I have and as His Holy Spirit dwells in me guiding me away from actions controlled by my sin nature. This past weekend I double booked myself...again. Since I couldn't be in both places at once, I agonized over having to call and cancel with one or the other. I knew that in my emotional state I would not have been able to make ...

Change

As I sit here this morning, I hear my heaters going outside and Leo rustling around. I believe he's trying to get outside...again. One of my neighbors must be going to work. I hear a car door shut. I am imagining all the wonderful noises that will come with Sarah Grace. I imagine the cries for food, attention, a diaper change. I imagine playing with her, talking to her, playing music for her. One thing I never do for myself is play music. I like silence when I'm by myself. I don't usually feel the need to fill my air space with noise. I like quiet. That makes me wonder how I will adjust to a new little person in my house. We don't have cable so I'm sure we will have plenty of videos for her. A friend asked this week how Leo will adjust to Sarah Grace. I really have no idea. Here is hoping for good. I would like to know some ways you all saw your life change when a wee one came along? What were some of the favorite things you did. I don't want to ...

Getting back to the Hebrew

I've totally gotten into studying Vine's Expository Dictionary of Biblical Words. Its so cool! The more I read the more I want to read it. Who hasn't heard the excuse that the Bible can't be trusted since it was probably changed in translation. Well, here's to nipping craziness in the butt. I'll try posting as many as I can for ya'll to read. aman (Hebrew) – believe; to be firm, to be enduring (Deuteronomy 28:59), be faithful, stand fast, to trust (Isaiah 43:10) also often translated into the word faithful used in Old Testament. My meditation: Isaiah 22:23 refers to a firm place (aman), “I will drive him like a peg in a firm place.” We can pray that our belief in Him is a firm place where all else can be firmly, planted. That and He is a firm place for us to be planted in. When this kooky world continues to contradict it's self, God never does. He is unchanging. We cannot do anything to make Him love us any more or any less. Go God! Yeah! I ...

Books, Books, Books, Oh my gosh, I'm drooling!

Image
I absolutely love books. This first picture is my prayer journal plus my journal from Kuwait I use for notes on things I learn in my personal Bible study time like Greek and Hebrew words (that is another post for later) I wrote about how I will have to hide my math anxiety (though when I get math, I absolutely love it, its the not getting it that gets me) a couple posts ago. Well, reading and books will be over the top genuine. What I should have pictured here is the leather books furniture we have. Our coffee table appears to be three leather bound books which actually holds our movies inside. Our board game cabinet looks like a half circle shelf of leather bound books (which is actually supposed to be a wet bar) and our side table by our chair is a nice little round table that looks the same as the others. Oh yeah and the end table where we store the National Geographic and all my miscellaneous papers. Okay, I'm going on and on about this. Sorry. I get a bit fanatical. H...
