Time machine

If you could go back in time to change one event, what would it be? Why would you change it. How would you change the event and for what outcome? If you wouldn't then that is a good answer too, just explain why you wouldn't. Adolf Hitler wrote a book that if every one had read it, then maybe the two World Wars wouldn't have happened and then maybe the holocaust would not have taken place. I would go back in time and make sure every one read Adolf Hitler's book so that they would know what he was up too. I might also go back in time and smack Sarah upside her head when the first thought of giving Hagar to Abraham entered her head. Then we wouldn't have this problem with the middle east maybe.

Priscilla Shirer Week Five

So, I now have a week and a half left until I get my hubby back home safely. Please pray it goes smoothly. I am so excited. Next week will be a busy week to get stuff done. God has truly blessed Dan and me during this deployment. I know I personally have grown amazing amounts. I am excited for what God has awaiting us in our future. Below is my outline for the Priscilla Shirer Bible study. Sorry I didn't get it out yesterday. God’s Voice Reveals His Plan We are His creation - created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared ahead of time so that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10, HCSB Our God does not just sit on high and look down low! God can do anything at any time and He chooses to be with us, know us intimately and stay with us always. Five principles about God's Plan for Your Life 1. God's plain is often uncovered while you are in the desert. God knows what will get our attention like He did for Moses. Moses turned aside to listen. He redirected His ...

Scripture Questions

Today I found two great bits of verses that spoke straight to my spirit; 2 Corinthians 4:8-9,17-18 and Exodus 34:6-7. I am working on memorizing them for Sunday school. We will see if it works. Quiz me Sunday. What I would like to know is what is or are some verses that you have memorized and why are they particularly special to you?

What is seen and unseen

Below is an excerpt from my journal. “The anticipation and nerves consume my mind in a flurry of thoughts. There is an intense desire to Dan home mixed with a fear of what it will be like. We have changed. God continues molding us on His Potter’s wheel. We are new creations at every turn and at every press of His hands. Will we still fit together? Those little compromises we have lived without for six months, will we be willing to pick them up again? I’ve changed shower gel. We used to share shower gel. I realized I prefer Caesar salad to spinach salad. Dan really only likes spinach salad. Will he mind switching to Caesar? What if our personalities have changed too much? We will have to get to know each other again. What if I have a hard time giving up how I have been doing things? What if he is distant because of his experiences in a war zone? Will he still love me the way he did before he left?” As I wrote this last night I realized that this is not a thought process...

Inspiration in the oddest places

Recently I watched a movie that was terrible. Whoever wrote the movie did not seem to put much thought into the monologues of imagery that should have carried the movie. The characters in the movie were sad excuses for writers. Because of this I think it is now one of my most favorite movies. I realize that is weird, but I have a very good reason for it. When I watch movies that are just literary works of art and the writer speaks straight to my heart, I am intimidated. I am not challenged to write better because I feel like they did the best that could be done. When the script is dismal then I feel like I could do better so I do. I pushed pause several times to write down what would have been better dialogue or monologue. Nifty. Hey I bet this is kind of like life. We can look at the mistakes others make and be inspired to do better. Okay maybe be less judgmental but none the less inspired. Cheers to terrible ideas!

Priscilla Shirer God's Voice Reveals His Character

I am so excited about this Bible Study, Discerning the Voice of God. It is just another addition to the amazing journey that has been this last year. I feel like all God has been doing in my life has been taking me closer and closer to Him and further and further away from the person I used to be. I have this image in my head of a sail boat clipping along with the wind in the sail's at full mass or however that sailing terminology has it. Well, here is the great insight that spoke to me today via Priscilla Shirer. This is the outline with all my side notes. I pray it can be as much of an encouragement to you as it has been to me. I thank God for you all as we mutually encourage each other towards the Heavenly finish line. "With all my heart I have sought You; Do not let me wander from Your commandments. Open my eyes, that I may behold wonderful things from Your law." Psalm 119: 10, 18 I see that scripture with a Dear Lord in front of it and an Amen at the end. W...

Update and Question

Today is the last day of April. This means that tomorrow I can say Dan is coming home this month. I am so excited to be under three weeks now. I can’ tell you how frustrating it is to just wait. It’s so close. I often burst out in a spontaneous smile when I think of seeing Dan again. We will go see his grandfather, Papa, when he gets home because he is very ill. Please pray that Papa will be well enough to have a good time with Dan. This Saturday is my Princess house party so if you can make it, please let me know since I have to let the gate guard know who all is coming. I look foreword to just sharing my home and have a little time of fellowship. Please pray for me as I will be leading the Grad Sunday School through the first chapter of 2 Peter May 6. I desire very much to bring God’s word to these young adults in a way that makes it real and applicable to their lives. Pray that God has and will equipped me for this task. A Question: What are some ways that help you relax when you fe...
