Its all you Monday!

First things first, don't forget there is free shipping today at my etsy shop. Go browse the handmade one of a kind pieces of jewelry that are quite beautiful if I might say so myself. :) I went over to Suite 101 to find some could questions to ask today. Serious question: Is it ethical for the affluent people to indulge in luxuries while other people starve? So not serious question: Who is your favorite Muppet?

Guest Blogger: Tea with Tiffany

Image
Today I am totally excited and honored to have Tiffany from Tea With Tiffany . Tiffany is a great writer, speaker, blogger. Her words have been a great encouragement to me as I continue to strengthen my blogging muscles as well as work on my passion servings God. When did you first come to know Jesus as your very own? I met Jesus at age nine when my two aunts shared the gospel. However, my faith faded fast because other things sounded more exciting. The turning point for me was in 1995 after I made a total mess of my life. I cried out for God and He was right there. Its been a love adventure ever since. When did you feel called to get serious about what you have to share and become a speaker? I felt called to speak in 2002. But, at the time I was new to writing and felt to insecure to even attempt speaking. I had no experience. Onlly in the last few years has the Lord opened the doors for me with speaking. Opportunities have come as I share I'm available to come and share. My confi...

You know that perfect storm of circumstance that cause insecurity? I hate it.

So, life is going great, things are well, progressing nicely...then bam , bam , bam ! Next thing you know your rife with insecurity and feeling vulnerable when once you were one top of the world. Every one experiences and it stinks that I am no different. God has seriously been blessing me lately with so many wonderful people and opportunities. Spending time with my youth group, my recent time with family, the cutest daughter and husband in the whole world. The list goes on and on and on. It only takes one though. Well, a little more than that recently but that one was a doozie . I know God wants my security to lie in what he thinks of me. In His eyes, I'm worth dieing for. He knows me and loves me anyway. Pretty cool. God also made me relational, umh , human. So when a person whom I love ever so dearly recently utterly rejected me, it sent my into quite a tail spin. I saw it coming in hind sight, but it didn't make it easier. It still hurt, still hurts, will continue to hurt. ...

Thought provoking

I just read a post on Warren Baldwin's blog, "WHAT CAN I DO?" I know it seems to early to start thinking about when Miss Wiggles turns 18, but, well, I think it is none to early. Having just started a business I've learned every new business needs a business plan, a mission statement and a purpose. Parenting is like that as well. Having a purpose helps set a foundation for a business plan a way to implement it. A mission statement helps convey what your purpose is. Why not apply this to parenting. the course may change and so will how we handle things. Miss Wiggle's personality will determine consequences and discipline and we dont' know how that will play out yet. We do however know what our goals are for her. We know what our goals are not. We want Miss Wiggles as well as our next child to be a functioning adult, succesful, independent. Financial saviness is a priority. Commitment to goals is another. Quiting when things are "too hard"...

She waved goodbye!

She waved goodbye! How awesome is that? Sarah went with me to a Dr .'s appointment today and as a lady waved goodbye to her as she left the waiting room, Miss Wiggles waved back. I was so tickled. I swear this little lady is an ambassador of happy. She smiles at people, laughs to get their attention, claps and now waves. As I fed her this evening she kept scrunching her nose and doing a breathy grunt three times. Every time I would repeat her actions she would just laugh and laugh. She didn't seem hungry either because she wasn't eating her food. Then I got my food. She ate half my salmon and mashed potatoes. I think baby food is coming to an end. The more grown up food she eats, the less she cares for the baby stuff. I don't know why... maybe it is because our food has actual flavor to it. Every tried baby's turkey and rice? Yeah, I don't suggest it. Yuck. That necklace I had pictured on Monday's post is one I sold at my first show. I wish ...

Who's the good guy here, Palin or McCain?

I recently read an article about the book "Going Rogue" by Sarah Palin . There are people that claim her accounts of past events leave out facts and others are twisted. Apparently she saw things happen one way and they saw it happen another. Isn't it interesting that they saw it in a way that makes them look good and Palin remembers it in a way that makes her look good? If you thought this was going to be a political post, it isn't. Thank goodness, I like controversy, but not that kind. My thoughts about it lie more with us, everyone, anybody who has had a contradictory memory to past events than someone else. Hubby and I talked about this last night. Over the last few months I have had conversations with different people some just conversationally, some were conflict where we didn't remember things the same way. Hubby and I rarely remember things the same way :). Differing points of view Biblically contributes to the area of study called apologetics I b...
